It is with immense pride that we can announce that, thanks to the generosity of Scottish Slimmers Class Managers and members, we have raised an incredible £30,669.93 for Breast Cancer Care Scotland! by holding Perfectly Pink events right across Scotland in October 2010!

Initially aiming to raise £10,000, our amazing Class Managers felt passionately about supporting this cause and their incredible fundraising efforts resulted in us raising over three times the original target!

We would like to say congratulations to all the Class Managers, Stand In Class Leaders, and Class Assistants who were involved in putting on the wide variety of fabulously-pink events across the country. And, of course, a huge thank you to every Scottish Slimmers member who came along and supported this important campaign. You are all fantastic!

Colin Graham, Area Fundraising Manager of Breast Cancer Care Scotland, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and we are so grateful to everyone involved. Scottish Slimmers set a challenging fundraising target and they have smashed through the £30,000 mark. This is brilliant news. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the Scottish Slimmers members and staff.”

Every pound that Scottish Slimmers has raised really does count to help Breast Cancer Care Scotland support people affected by breast cancer:

• Just £23 can fund one call to their free helpline, to support someone dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis.
• £123 funds an information session
• £650 can fund a telephone support group for women and men going through breast cancer.

Alexandra Howie, Marketing Director of Scottish Slimmers, said: “We have been delighted with the response from Class Managers and members. £30,000 is an incredible amount of money to raise, and it is a testament of the enthusiasm and generosity of our Class Managers and members. Everyone had fun whilst raising vital funds for a cause which is so close to so many hearts.”
