For long and weary I told myself, "one more pizza won't make a difference", but every single one did. I tried diets in the past, (mainly my own inventions, never did SS or anything similar before), but nothing worked. Probably coz I only stuck to them for about 5 minutes.

I wasn't happy with the way my life was going and made myself sit down and think about it instead of ordering a Chinese and forgetting it till tomorrow (the day that NEVER came).

I realised that everything I wasn't doing was down to being overweight and I don't know how (so can't advise) but something clicked and I realised that this was not going to change by itself. I went online, looked up SS, decided to join the forum, bought the Your Dietline pack and started Pepping.

It truly is Mind over Matter, my mind got to grips with the fact that NOTHING could ever taste as good as being slim again. When I struggle, I just remind myself that nobody is going to do this for me, it's down to me. If there was a dish called "being slim fried rice" it would be what I'd choose but I'm quite happily placing my order without the rice these days. I reeeeeeeeeeeally wanna be slim again.

Sorry about the rant, it just fell out lol.

Welcome to the forum honey. Muscle is heavier than fat so if you do a lot of exercise, you will tone up and lose inches rather than loads of weight every week. The weight will come off though honey, but try to concentrate on how your clothes feel coz the exercise will slim you down regardless of your weight-losses. Exercising will make you healthier and it really doesn't matter what your weight is if you fit into the size you're aiming for. Don't be on a downer Diane coz 5lbs in two weeks is fab! What a star! Keep doing what you're doing and keep posting for support. We're all in the same boat.

I'm nearing the end of my 1st week (Tuesday) and being surprised how focused I've been, not one alcoholic drink has passed my lips since I started and had a low fat cheese, tomato & cucumber salad sandwich on brown bread instead of my usual roll 'n' sausage & red sauce on a Sunday.  Next year, I'm going to Spain with my Belgian friend and want to loose approx. 3 stone.  It's going to be a long haul but I'm determined to do it.

What a positive post, I feel the exact same hun, soooo determined to get fit and slim. Good luck to everyone, its gonna be one heck of a journey xxx

Over the years, I have managed to reach an ideal weight with previous diets so I know it can be achieved.  The fact that I've got a reason to achieve my goals is a fantastic incentive.

I'm really hoping the scales give me a positive answer on Tuesday and tell me I've lost a few pounds.  Paying the financial pounds doesn't bother me, Scottish Slimmers will deserve every penny if I reach my target weight.
rhona
Good luck to all of you. You sound really positive, hang on to that feeling and you'll get there no bother.
LisaC
How positive you sound and in turn make me feel. We can all do this - it is achievable!!!

Have just joined dietline myself and am just over half way through my first week. All going well so far. Have dieted at home before but never managed more than about 4 weeks. However am now completely addicted to the forums and while I am on here reading and posting at least I'm away from the cupboards and fridge. Good luck all

MAXRIDDLES
Need your help & support !! Rejoined last week, lost 3lbs but had a shocking week this week, weigh in is Thursday, Do I try & claw back some checks each day or just get back on track & exercise like crazy ?
Clare Menary
The mind over matter battle is, to be perfectly honest, a bit of a bugger during a holiday weekend.  I'm hoping to have lost 2 & a half lbs before my next weigh in on Tuesday evening to reach the half way point of my target loss but the Wotsits & Cadbury's Fudge have won the arguements a couple of days.

What I do have in my favour is that I've only had 6 alcoholic drinks since mid July, I used to be able to have that in a couple of hours on a Friday or Saturday night.

Well done you! I'm having 3 large ones tonight but they're all counted. Not sure I'd make over 2 months with no drink at all but I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be. You have great willpower babe.

No excuses for bumping this post again - it's a great one Rhona!

I'm just glad it helps. I'm so pleased for you Bella, you sounds so positive and totally organised. It's great to have you back on track. Was reading your other post and I bet you reach target by Xmas. You're in the perfect frame of mind for it, just hold on to that and you'll be there in no time. I'm doing *pinky*'s Xmas challenge and have 13 lbs left to lose to complete the challenge. We're aiming for almost the same thing by the time Santa comes Wink
Mystic Bella
Woohoo - wanting Santa to bring me some nice lingerie in a smaller size methinks!!  We would be able to sit on his knee without breaking his legs now!!Wink
