when following a diet, so you may get bigger portions or go pre packed.
i mean if you were to buy a cottage pie pre packed, its fairly small(unless you buy the family sized one!!)
would using the ingredients and making one from stratch give you a bigger portion size with fewer calories???
what do you all find easier???

i find making everything from scratch easier, you know whats in it, portions are bigger and its alot nicer than frozen meals, frozen meals can be handy as well if i have to use them on the rare occasion i always fill it out with free veg

far easier... and tastier because

you know what is in it

you can bulk it out

there is obviously less preservatives, salt, colourings etc!

Much prefer cooking from scratch - you know exactly what you're getting and the SS recipes are usually so quick it's no hassle.  You don't get much in prepacked meals I don't think, and it's more satisfying to do it yourself.  Loads of veg and a fresh cooked meal - you can't beat it!

Much prefer it, but when I'm stuck then a ready meal is fine by me.  Prefer to make my own ready meals though and keep them in the freezer: spag bol, chilli, fish pie etc.

If I have a shop ready meal I tend to eat it without cooking extra vg then I'm hungry half an hour later Embarrassed
