I take it this is where it starts to get hard.
 

What do I do now? Do I still write things down every day? Can I do it without counting every single calorie?

sorry, I've never been at target so cant advise you on that but just wanted to say well done!

Well done you. I think it might be a good idea to keep writing things down to keep a record of what you eat instead of guesstimating. It's obviously done you well up to now. Maybe it would be a good idea to pm Eli or make a post on the main board but I think that you up your checks slightly. Never having been there myself yet I wouldn't really know!! But I hope to be there soon.

First of all Congratulations!! i would say everybody deals with being at target differently - some people like to up their daily checks and others (me included in this one) stick to 40 a day and have a couple of days a week where you dont count and it all evens itself out! i found that when i tried to up my checks i was eating all day or having a chocolate bar a day just to make sure i consumed enough! but its a learning curve that you have to go through to find out what best suits your lifestyle! good luck!

do you go to class vclxi?,if so then there is a target members pack available and your CM can advise you,apparantly there are different ways to keep at target,one way is increase checks on a daily basis(but yes you have to keep counting)another way is to remain on present checks mon to fri ..but have a free eat what you want at weekends.
i only ever got to target with SW in the past,and made the mistake of stopping class,and going back to my old ways(3 times in total)so this time when i get to target,i will keep going to class

Thanks everyone. I do attend a class every week and do intend to keep going. The target members pack that I received is suggesting (if I have read it right) that my daily check allowance for maintaining my weight is 92 checks (up from 60 currently as I am a bloke). I am not sure if I can consume 92 checks per day. Even on 60 I am saving an average of 15 per day for the weekend with little effort.

Maybe the advice to stick to 30 per day Monday to Friday and don't count at weekends is the best approach for me.



If I keep attending class I will at least know if I am going off the rails and can re-adjust accordingly.

Most of the people that I know who are at target and have maintained it do the 80/20 thing which sounds like what Ermintrude does ie if you follow the plan 80% of the time you can afford to relax the remaining 20%.
 

Will 30 a day not be too low for you?

i hope that was a typing error vclxi - im 8 and half stone and would never only eat 30 a day! even if i was saving for something! oh and do you exercise? i find the best weigh to maintain is exercise at least 4 times a week! then you can get away with pretty much anything at the weekends!

It was indeed a typing error. I meant 60 a day.
 

30 a day wouldn't even keep me going in alcohol. LOL.

did your CM advise you...you can now become a lifetime member?...for £5 you get the lifeline...if you do go over your 7lb danger allowance , you do not have to get right back to target again..and only pay till your below the 7lb!

 

go to class every week for the first  few months, to keep you on track ....

 

I tend to stick to my 45 checks and then say have Saturday off! well not eat anything... just maybe something for dinner thats a bit higher checks!

 

I have tried to get up to my maintaining checks ...but get no where near it...as I start to put on weight! I should be on 70 ch a day!! but don't think that will near happen!

 

Keep going to class....

I got to target on 7 November and have decided to get weighed every 2 weeks. My first weight in was Wednesday past and I have put on half a pound! I am pleased with that cos I've done quite a bit of celebrating but have now got it out of my system! I do the check counting monday to friday and relax a bit at the weekend. Still keeping the exercise and water drinking up so hopefully will be able to maintain this forever! Also took out lifetime membership which is a great option!
