Hi All

I just wanted to say what a great support this thread is. I thought I was the only person with 100plus pounds to loose so its great to read all the posts and not feel so alone. My second week has been ok and I even managed a Bums Tums and thighs class this week although in agony now. laugh.gif
Well done to all the weight loses so far and hopefully we will all continue to do well.

The way you are losing weight, you are likely to hit the two stone mark in a few weeks, fantastic inspiration a holiday, and I understand completely regarding the rides I am the same when it comes to plane seats shucks.gif

YVONNE.. A huge welcome to the forum and especially this thread, believe me you are not the only one honey with over 100lbs to lose (me included) I prsonally find having mini targets help for example taking it in 7lb blocks or under the next stone level, rather than looking at the fuller picture blink.gif You realy will meet some amazing people on here that give such wonderful advice and motivation, that will also help you. Minnie has lost nearly 8 stone, Flick has lost over 5 stone if I remember correctly, and so many others really are doing well, just goes to show it can be done.. hi yvonne, welcome to the forum! your right this thread is great for support and im the same as you i was so pleased when i joined the forum and saw the 100+ to lose, if defo helps to know your not alone smile.gif

smiles my heads ok just now laugh.gif but i did have more than i planned to (as always wink.gif ) and ended up gettin chips n curry at the end of the night y_shock.gif lol but at least i have until thursday to cut back on the checks so not feelin to bad about it smile.gif

showgirl you lucky thing going to florida, doesnt get much better than that for motivation i imagine biggrin.gif ! i can totally see where your coming from about wanting to fit on the rides, and also with you smiles on the plane seats ohmy.gif they are just the worst! by the time your holiday comes you'll forget you were even thinking about fitting into the rides im sure biggrin.gif i used to be like that thinking about going to concerts/cinema etc and always booked an isle seat so i wouldnt feel so bad but now i cant say i think about it that much at all! all thanks to the pep laugh.gif !!!!

Hi smiles yeh I have decided to take in in half stones at a time. I think it will seem less of a battle that way. I am a real comfort eater so I need to find other things to make me feel better when stressed. I have a daughter who does not keep well and we spend a lot of time in hospital at least 2 weeks out of every 8 and I can never stick when in there with her. Will need to be better organised and take food in with me and avoid the shop wink.gif xxx

Minnie - sounds like it was a good night and there's nothing like chips and curry sauce at the end of the night (that is any night lol).

Showgirl - you're well on the way with your plan. The 8.5lb will be gone in no time.

Yvonne - welcome to the forum. Everyone's in the same boat and its good to talk to people who understand exactly what you're going through.

Meant to share this earlier in the week - was in the canteen at work on Monday and the girls at the table were talking about losing weight (I didn't get involved) and one girl (size 8-10) announced that it was much easier for people who were 'big' to lose weight than those who were slimmer. Got rather angry at this mad0234.gif as 1. she's probably never been more than a size 10 in her life so what would she know anyway, and 2. if losing weight was that easy I would be slim by now! Anyway, rant over! mad0234.gif

Didn't make it to class this morning because I had people round last night and had too much of the red stuff so couldn't drive shucks.gif . Off out tonight with the girls so I think I'll be sticking to vodka - less painful wacko.gif !

hi yvonne, thank you shucks.gif , yeah i do feel like a different person although im still nowhere near a target weight yet, but as far as confidence and just being able to do silly wee things without having to think about it, its just great! i had well over 10 stone to lose when i first started and like smiles said its better to take things in mini targets, which i still do, just getting from a yellow sticker to a blue to another yellow and so on! but joining the club is the best thing ive done for myself in a long time! would never be able to do it on my own smile.gif it'll defo help if you can take your own stuff into the hospital with you, and will probably work out much cheaper too i imagine smile.gif xx

i think its funny when i hear folk saying stuff like that to about losing weight, the funny thing is some of these people with those opinions probably eat a lot less healthier than us fabulous ss gals n guys, but just becasue they arent overweight they think they know it all wacko.gif ! also i have found in the past although the vast majority of people are really chuffed at people losing weight there will always be some who are ever so slightly jealous, dont ya think wink.gif xx

About the jealousy thing definately!!! I have this cousin who when we were young were really close but then as we got older we kinda drifted apart she said she didnt want to hang out with the 'fat' cousin anymore!!! mad0234.gif But anyways since i have started losing weight everyone in my family has been like 'well done, so pleased, your doing so well' what's been her response??? 'Well we shall see how long she lasts! dont know why your getting so excited!! haha my mum was livid but i think it is jealousy myself because i'm prettier than her!!!! LOL XXXXXX

HI all - thanks for your encouragement but can I ask you all a big favour as you know from earlier postings I've been having three bad weeks - I had hoped to get back on track today but NO sad.gif but well an idea came to me whilst making a baked pot and some left over HM curry for tea tonight - and that was to ask you all to help me surrender.gif
Talking earlier today DH and I have decided on dates for going back over to visit my family in NIreland
I would like you all to come up with a new mini target for me to meet by Sat 19th April - that target will replace the one shown at my signature
Thats 8 weeks from today
My family over there haven't seen me since late Nov 07 - when I'd only just started the PEP programme (2 weeks) at that time when I was over there I worked hard and after a 10 day holiday came back to WI with a 7.5lb loss
I'd also like good firm encouragement and if needed a telling off during that time - I'll put together a pledge to confirm my agreement to work on the challenge
I'll also be copying this post and putting it in the 50lbs + thread
I look forward to hearing from you

ethne thats a great idea smile.gif ! i dont want to be the one to set you a target as im not confident enough to really know what you should be aiming for but im sure someone will set one for you thats just right! i will defo keep checking on how you are doing tho and like you said if you need a wee kick up the b-side then i'll assist lol! what a fab loss you has the last time you were over, if you think how hard you worked then, then imagine doing the same over the next few weeks! your family will notice a big difference in you im sure 2thumbs.gif !! xxx

I know the simple thing is to take 1.5 to 2 lbs per week as a loss - that would be 12 to 16 lbs but I need to know if you all think I could or should try for more WITH YOUR HELP
I know I want to suprise all at home but I WANT / NEED to do MORE for ME
I need to get things going PROPERLY again but with something extra - like needing to be answerable to some of you - seriously start on some excercise programme - I talked about it but done absolutly nothing - YET
Basically I need to be PUSHED a little - goal setting for myself is well 'flexible' to a certain extent - we / I fall back on excuses
So please be the first - set a target - then after WI on Monday night I'll reset my signature to suit the average of whats been suggested by yourself and others - if there are any

ok i would probably think in 8 weeks to aim for between 10 and 12 pounds! anything on top of that would be a bonus i would say!
i started the gym in december and although at first i didnt think it was making much of a difference i now think it is reallllly helping! do you have a lot of time when you can exercise? i would also say get walking up any hills that are near you because when i do that i feel absoltely knackered but also great, plus it helps clear my head as well, then i dont want to go eat something and undo all the hard work. i know that sounds pretty random but it has worked for me smile.gif

I'm working on walking - can only do this at nights though and prefer to have DH accompany me when its dark - but he's recovering from an ongoing injury and unable to do much at present - hopefully soon that will change

what about weekends? do you have time then? if you get a good hour or so walk at the weekend that'll help. i know its better walking with someone but if they cant go for what ever reason and if its safe enough wherever your going yourself then i would say just go for it! i had a walking buddy in the past and a few times got let down by them but i just thought to myself im still going for it!

I really do believe if you plan and organise the best you possibly can, then you do end up having a good weight loss.. smile.gif
As you are a comfort eater like me, maybe plan to take some fruit with you, ie cherries, chunks of pineapple, strawberries and so on, which would in fact eliminate the damage that could be done.

Well things still aren't great for me, it's my uncles funeral tomorrow and my Mums dog died on friday. So with this and my cousin dying 2 weeks ago I can't wait for february to finish. They say things come in 3s so hopefully thats it all over for me for a while anyway.

PEPwise I have been really sh*t. I am just going to write february off, but I warn you all, I will be back here kicking a$$ from wednesday onwards. SO beware.

We can all do this, I guess one thing I have learned in the past couple of weeks is that I have managed to control my boredom eating, but I am still a comfort eater. So I will need to work on that one.

Anyways enough of me, hope you are all doing well and doing your best to stick to the PEP.

over the next 8 weeks say we each plan to loose between 8-10lbs - that is 8-10lbs by Saturday 19th April
I could look at sorting out some sort of excel document to log each of us on the challenge and provide a link to it - similar to what other threads have done
I'll have a play over lunchtime now and add a link to a sample for consideration OK

Other threads have charts linked to them with only some regular thread members taking part - I dont forsee any problem in keeping it here
Also here is probably the best place for it we are 100 lbs + loosers (or plan to be) aren't we
Thats also allows anyone who wants to check how we are getting on by clicking the link - and if the want they can opt to join in / monitor our progress / encourage or give us the required nudge if they think we are cooping out
Anyone wanting to join - just PM me confirming your WI day and as and from your next WI - today or later in the week the chart can be updated

Much to my suprise tonight I've had 2lbs off - not going to count it in this weeks chart though - extra incentive (hopefully)

Chart on PC in work so I'll make up a new one here at home tonight and I'll be ready to roll as soon as the information is sent through to me

Morning all

Well I am here and almost ready to get back on the PEP, have a few demons to deal with today then, I will be back.

Count me in on the challenge, I need all the help and support I can get to get me back on track.

So any suggestions etc please let me know and please please feel free to kick me up the a$$ when I am not pulling my weight.

Hi Flick - I've got your name on the list - can you let me know what day you WI and do you want to be on the excercise chart to (this is to get ME doing something and not just sitting around on my A**)
Just to let all of you know for the excercise chart I've split it into weeks with 5 boxes per week so that we can register when we do some 'worthwhile' excercise during the week your choice 3, 4 or 5 times per week - is that ok or do you have something else in mind
Exercise being brisk 20 minute walk, trip to the gym for a workout, workout class, or home workout using a video/dvd - is that ok

My exercise will either be walking the woof woof, Vicki Binns or Natilie Cassiday DVD or going to the gym.

I weigh in on a tuesday starting back next week.

Just let me know what the LOSSES are and each Saturday the number of days exercise you have done - then I'll post the charts for the first time on Thurs night and maybe update link every couple of days - is that OK dry.gif
