Hiya, my God there's been loads of posts this week. I haven't had time to read them all but will do tonight. What with working every day and going into hospital to visit my Gran every night last week I haven't time to do anything! You should see the state of my house ohmy.gif . Was at the wedding on Friday and everyone thought I looked really good (felt really good too) except for my sexy shoes which hurt after about 5 minutes pinch.gif I ended up going to the evening thing with a pair of scabby trainers on but didn't stay long so I think I got away with it. No hunky policemen there either so there was no point staying biggrin.gif .

Lunchtime's over so need to get back to work. Hope everyone's having a good week.

Later..............

Annie xxxx

Oh, 1.5lb on last week angry.gif

Woohoooo welcome home Annie.. We have missed you laugh.gif hug.gif
Glad the wedding went well apart from the shoes blink.gif shame no sexy policemen tho laugh.gif
Was it also your birthday last week?..
How is your Gran doing?.. xxxxx

Well back from WI - half lb ON
I await your well aimed hob nail boot strikes - blink.gif
I must admit though that I half expected it - DH insisted on biscuits - therefore when they are here they get eaten - added to which I had the miscalculation for 2-3 days and what with being over checked - I was over checked with an extra 5 that shouldn't have been there in the first place
If I hadn't had the 3 days of excercise plus a walk around the shops on Sat and Sun it would have probably been worse
So I'll need to get this big butt into gear and work hard for the next 7 days to get back on track - here's hoping there will be at least 2 off next week
Mum is suggesting I lay off bread and potatoes, plus change what I have for breakfast (stay away from wheat etc) to see if that makes a differience - don't see how - I'd have 6-8 slices of 50/50 bread a week, and only a small potatoe about 3 times a week
Anyone got any other ideas - I've failed badly on the water intake again this week but promise to change this and will even go to the point of logging in 75cl each morning (and if possible each afternoon at work) added to which I usually have 1pt of no sugar dil juice with a meal each night - to see if this has an effect - other than running to the loo - I may also post what I eat each day for 'feedback' from you all to see if I am making a glaringly obvious error
I hope you are ALL doing better than I did last week
have a good night
I'll check for the telling offs later

Awww Ethne...
Firstly well done for being honest honey...
Regarding the biscults, is there any kind which you just do not like, that your O/H could buy instead, or do you have to have them in the house, for example by hubbie loves chocolate, but understands this is one of my downfalls, and because he is really supportive, he will not leave chocolate around the house, if he wants chocolate he will buy some at work, this really does help me, because if I found chocolate or biscults I would have to eat them all shucks.gif

Maybe for a week you should type on here exactly what you do eat, then some of the more experienced members could check it for you..

Last week you started doing plenty of walking, and you really did feel good for it, maybe try again this week, also try and drink more water, I really do believe this helps regarding weight loss.. smile.gif

You can do this Ethne, if you really want to..
Plan and organise as much as possible, and remember we are all here to help and give support to you.. Tomorrow is a new day 2thumbs.gif Good luck and keep posting.
I have my boot on ready to kick you, into gooooo wink.gif laugh.gif xxxxx

Evening folks

Good to see a few of us about on this thread today.

Well I get weighed tomorrow and am totally dreading it as usual. Have had 5 out of 7 PEP perfect days so fingers crossed for a wee loss or a STS.

1/2 lb on isn't too bad and can definatly be fixed next week.

It can be difficult keeping up with the cx in things though. I was a potato croquette fan and could have 6 for 6 cx. Never really though anything of it until one night I had a brain freeze as tescos had changed the packaging so I looked and to my horror the new ones were 6cx for 3 wacko.gif , New improved recipe had doubled the check value and I had been eating them for almost a month. This has also happened with tesco potato wedges recently too used to get 150g for 6cx now I can get 100g for 5 cx.

So I guess what I am saying is if its a different brand, or the packaging changes check the check value as its possibly changed too.

I like posting what I am eating and like to see what others are eating. This way we can keep a track on what we are eating, others canpoint ouut any mistakes we might be making and we might pick up some new suggestions to try ourself.

Anyways enough rambling from me, I am off to try to get some sleep. I havent been sleeping too well lately (probably with everything that has happened) but I am beginning to feel like I am on meltdown, which isn't good as I have 2 really heavy weeks at work ahead.

Will check in tomorrow.

Morning all - thanks for the 'kicking' smile.gif
I'm willing to log in what I eat - haven't really got into the 'plan for the week' format - basically just go with the flow - but I am more than willing to post what I AM eating for double checking on the checks and other advice etc
Plus I hope to take the dog for a walk at lunchtime rolleyes.gif
So here goes sad.gif
Cheerios with ss milk - lots of milk left in the bowl after eating and a hot water
OH dear just been given 2 fingers of kit kat - DH comes into work with me for 30 mins on a Tues morning - busy his papers and the kit kat - I'll try not to eat it with coffee now (and give it to the dog when he goes at 9)
Lunch will be Aldi's chunky veg soup average tin 7 checks followed by pineapple chunks (in juice) - allowed - with low fat fom frais - 2 checks
Therefore I work it out to be a total of 18 checks by lunchtime today - what do you think?
shucks.gif
Littlefire
Just to let you know - I had a crumb (bit that broke of the side) of the kit kat the dog got both fingers
I positive step
2nd positive step - bottle of water is full beside me - hope to have it empty by lunchtime
Flick
Yay lost 1.5lbs biggrin.gif
Littlefire
Well done Flick
That's you back on track - keep going 2thumbs.gif
I now hope that I'm going to be back - 75 cl bottle of ns dil juice drunk this morning

Thanks for the support here - and I hope seeing my errors you all avoid them yourself
Well what has passed my lips from lunchtime till now zipped.gif - no it didn't stay SHUT
I drank another 75cl of ns dil juice (plus a coffee total of 3 so far today)
1 pack of 3 GO biscuits - 5 checks lipsmacking.gif
dinner - 155 g baked potatoe with coronation chicken (home made) - 12 checks plus a hiball glass of ns dil juice
that makes a grand total of 35 checks so far today
Hopefully there will be no 'snacks' later other than maybe another biscuit - so at present I'm 20 checks in hand out of todays 55 2thumbs.gif
I went for a dander at lunchtime (bank and walk around the block), and again after work to do some shopping - say 20 - 25 mins total
Heres hoping that by 'reporting' to you all I can get back on track and have a good loss next week
have a good night - I'll probably check in later after some surfing to see who's around
Smiles
Really does sound like you are on the ball for today Ethne 2thumbs.gif and you still have checks left if you fancy a treat later, which is perfect rolleyes.gif
One day gone, and only six more to go until weigh in laugh.gif

I really do believe that drinking water helps, at the moment I am enjoying the Ribenna tooth kind juice, you just add to water, I find this also fills me up, in other words prevents me from munching on the wrong foods shucks.gif

I have just had my tea Roast Beef with Roasted Vegetables (Squash, onions, parsnips, peppers and baby carrots) ooooh and sprouts all with lashings of gravy y_rasp.gif y_innocent.gif gave hubbie roast potatoes and yorkie puds also, but I didn't have..
Might have a curly whirly later and maybe a WW caramel rice pudding piggy.gif piggy.gif decisions decisions laugh.gif xxxxxx
Littlefire
Smiles
Your dinner sounds great
I've had a treat - another pack of GO biscuits and a coffee
Thats the grand total of 40 checks today - 15 saving for the week
Heres hoping is as good
I've been surfing for more quilt fabric (bargins on ebay) and pattern hunting - just had a thought may do a mini quilt or table runner or pot holder - something - for the member with the most weight lost over say the next 3 or 4 12 week challenges - it will keep the hands occupied and away from nibbles
TBird-Audrey
why is it that we keep away when we have been bad?? I have been absolutely awful this week, eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and not writing anything down or counting checks y_evil.gif Not looking forward to WI tomorrow night shucks.gif

Audrey - you will see from last weeks post that we are doing a mini challenge over 12 weeks because like you some of us have been having problems keeping PEPing properly - you are welcome to join in just post your details and I'll put you on the chart hug.gif

Ethne well done on so far today, how is the water drinking going, and the exercise.. smile.gif

Flick you really are sounding motivated, which is just great, in fact really good to see this thread sooo positive 2thumbs.gif

I have just finished my job woohoooooo laugh.gif really am just soooooo happy.
Just have to find a new one now shucks.gif

I have decided that in a few minutes I am going to wobble to the gym, have not been for over two weeks, due to being really ill, I still am not feeling a 100 per cent right, but I am going, if I cannot handle the whole work-out at least I have tried smile.gif
So far today I have eaten a breakfast bar and had a ltr of water, for lunch I will have some sushi which I just love lipsmacking.gif and tonight planning on having a stir fry..
Just realised weigh in tomorrow am blink.gif soon comes round..
Good luck Minnie for tomorrow am, and where are yoooou? unsure.gif

Hi Smiles - enjoy the wee break between jobs - I'm sure you have plenty at home lined up to keep you occupied
Hi Flick - forget it the bad day is by with - do you know what set it off? Here's hoping tomorrow will be better
I notice a number of you eat breakfast bars to start of the day - I don't think I'd be satisfied with that - 3 bites and its GONE - in the past if I've had bad mornings where snacking is happening way to often, I'd pack a breakfast ceral and have it for 10ies 11ies at work instead
Does the b bar satisfy you or do you eat something else a hour or two later?
Well my eating today - 12 checks for breakfast - baked potatoe with savory chicken for lunch - 12 checks - 1 pkt of GO biscuits 5 checks - home made chips (SS style), rib eye steak (small) and onions - say 16 checks
Fluid intake today - 1.5 litres of dil juice, 1 large hiball glass of dil juice, 3 coffee's
A 10 min walk at lunchtime to get lunch
So far 45 checks - 10 checks in hand
Total of 25 checks in hand for the week so far
I'll update the chart and post it on Thrusday night - probably after 10pm
Smiles
I try not to eat breakfast bars, the reason I did today was because I was going to the gym, and realised I had not had anything to eat, so thought I had better grab something to munch on rolleyes.gif just was not hungry shucks.gif

In the past I used to eat one every morning while travelling, for about two weeks, and noticed my weight loss was not so good, and I blamed it on the bars.. I also found that an hour or so later I was starving, where now I just go without breakfast, but if I am hungry then I munch on fruit smile.gif

Ethne sounds like your day has been perfect, good to see you are having plenty of fluid, and the exercise is going well wink.gif 2thumbs.gif

Flick.. As Ethne asked.. do you know why this happened? could it be because you just got weighed? hug.gif

AnnieC
Hiya,

Yeah, I would like to join the challenge, if you could count me in Ethne (I haven't managed to work out how to PM people yet!). By the way, Ethne, you're doing really well 2thumbs.gif .

Flick - tomorrow's another day. Forget your bad day and you'll be fine hug.gif .

Audrey - hope your WI was better than you expected smile.gif .

Smiles - you sound on top of the world - and 'Smiles' really sounds like you! biggrin.gif I'm sure you'll get the job you want. Going by your posts you're exactly the kind of person I would want to work with. I did have a good birthday thanks. I did absolutely nothing when I got home from work. It was great. Got some nice pressies too.

Had a really stressful day at work with loads of things going wrong mad0234.gif so have drunk about 3 glasses of wine (and not the 125mlones either!). Had a not too bad day on the food front. My problem is that I never have time for breakfast so I'm usually eating a slice of toast on the way to work. I've lost my glasses as well and I can hardly see the screen (apologies for any bad spelling). I need them for tomorrow because I have a hospital appointment at the eye clinic (nothing serious) so I'm kind of stuck. Good news is that my Gran's getting out of hospital tomorrow so we're well pleased. Fortunately its the same one I'm going to so I can pick her up after my appointment. Its good because its her birthday (93rd) on friday so at least she'll be home for it.

Anyway, think I'm a bit squiffy now so will stop wittering blink.gif . Actually have just finished the bottle shucks.gif

Bye for now hug.gif hug.gif

right!!!! *rolls sleeves up ready for action* my WI was as expected 3 1/2 on so ____________________________________________ (can you guess what this is) y_rasp.gif ready to go, planned out my breakfast, lunch and dinner, so here goes, new day. Hope everyone has a great one smile.gif
Littlefire
Confession time - you will have to update my checks for yesterday - used the ALL blink.gif - had 2 glasses of red wine and another packet of Go biscuits after signing off sad.gif - so I used up all my 55 checks for the day
Therefore checks saved this week to date 15
Minnie - its better to sign on and write things down book.gif - I've found its helped to realise how 'bad' I've been on occasion and in some instances realise how much I was actually eating - nearly a full pack of sweets is a couple - its too easily done - we dont mind and probably prefer to see that others are having the same problems as us
Annie welcome - just let me know what day you get weighed and I'll add you to the list hug.gif
So far it's the same as yesterday - 12 checks for breakfast (branflakes / ss milk / dried fruit)
I promise to stick with the 1.5 lt of fluid at work throughtout the day
Take care - catch up with you later
Flick
Morning all

Yip I know exactly what the problem was, it was hot pies from the bakers being brought into work and yip they had bought for everyone. I can't resist these particular pies but I wish I had as I have been up and down all night with stomach cramps as I don't eat them very often now. wacko.gif blink.gif

Cereal Bars- In all honesty, NO they don't satisfy me at all even having 2 of them and if I look back this is actually when my weight began to go up and down and STS. I haven't really lost anything (well 5.5 lbs) since I started eating them for breakfast in Sept last year. SO I reckon I need to change that and use them as a buscuit snack instead.

So heres the plan for today.

Breakfast- bacon roll (8cx)

Lunch- Ham roll (8cx) cake (7cx)

Tea- Braised steak (12cx) Pots (6cx)

TOTAL 41 cx (may add to this later

Smiles
Audrey have you thought about joining the challenge wink.gif

i had my weigh in this morning and lost 1 pound! i really dont know how i am doing it as i dont think i deserved it, but im not complaining hehehe! thats me 1.5 off losing 8st now so i am needing a mighty kick up the backside from all of you this week if i tell yous i have been bad smile.gif! it is also only 2 more weeks until thats a year since i started scottish slimmers so i want rid of that 1.5pd so i can boast to anyone that'll listen that i have lost 8st in a year laugh.gif laugh.gif *she says with a big head* lol

ethne hope you have been able to get in some exercise. also havent read back through all the posts yet but have you increased your fluid intake and if so do you think its helping yet?

Hiya,

Minnie, 8 stones is absolutely fantastic 2thumbs.gif . Its good to talk to another Fifer (one of the chosen ones biggrin.gif ). I go to Elaine's class on a Saturday morning at the Rothes Halls. I actually come from Buckhaven originally, but I tend not to admit that very often shucks.gif . Used to go to the old haunts in Leven - the Caley, the Crown, McPhails (well, it was the Golf back then), The Hunting Lodge......... Oh God, thats bringing back some memories laugh.gif Hope you enjoyed Edinburgh.

Well done Smiles. Wish I was as motivated as you.

I'm sure you'll do much better this week Audrey. You sound like you mean business. Go girl!

Ethne & Flick, you're both doing so well. Ethne, Saturday WI for me at the moment.

Today wasn't quite as stressful. We got letters telling us about our annual bonus so I'm well chuffed biggrin.gif . Its not a fortune but more than I expected. Off to see Gran now and then WI tomorrow. Not looking forward to it.

Bye for now, hope everyone has a good weekend.

oh my gooness annie its a small world, elaine is my class manager as well, my real name is kelly by the way incase you say to her minnie, she'll no have a clue who your talking about haha. shes a fab class manager eh 2thumbs.gif i really like her! and it turns out we went to the same haunts as well! it was the golf when i used to go down leven to! those were the days...... i used to be out in leven every weekend when i was in my late teens early 20s, friday nights at the hawkshill hotel used to be fab, but i never go out there now. i live in east wemyss and have done all my days apart from a couple of years when i moved to leven with my boyfriend but i made him come back to the wemyss with me when we had our wee boy. you will prob know some of my family as they stay in buckhaven, my uncle is the local councillor andrew rodger. its awft exciting when you talk to folk youve no met that used to go the same places as yourself eh laugh.gif or is that just me lol!

smiles hope the weather stays nice for your walk, i love going for long walks when it nice out, not sure i'll be doing it today tho as i am feeling very rough puke.gif after my drinking antics yesterday.

I was just thinking in two weeks time I have been 'healthy eating' for 4 months..
Would be great to lose 5.5lbs to make my 4 stone sticker.. but I think that is pushing it a touch laugh.gif laugh.gif (I'm just being greedy) laugh.gif laugh.gif

you have done so well already you'll be getting another sticker very very soon i have no doubt! you must feel a big difference in yourself with losing so much and eating healthier as well eh. when i think back to ho i used to look and feel it almost seems like it wasnt me as i so much has changed. its crazy.

Thanks honey hug.gif I do feel a difference but... still have a longgg way to go, but I am just taking each day as it comes, and setting targets to the next sticker (crazy as this sounds laugh.gif ) We are due to go on holiday in September I am hoping to lose 3 more stone before that, which I think is possible, would be great to wear a bikini shucks.gif shucks.gif and not stay covered up, and also sit in the plane seat and not have to ask for the bright red extension seatbelt, because I am to fat shucks.gif shucks.gif

To be honest Minnie your pictures are an inspiration, you really are doing amazingly, just goes to show that yes dreams do come true.. are you going to have a target party? laugh.gif laugh.gif would be a great excuse for a booze up hehee.. what does your O/H think to you losing 8 stone, he really must be so proud of you smile.gif
2506
OH yes i'll be having a parteeeeeeee laugh.gif or a series of nights out to celebrate at least lol! although i have so far to go yet it wont be for a long time. my o/h thinks its fantastic but i think im lucky in that he didnt bother what size i was even when i was at my biggest where a lot of men would if you know what i mean. its really good now for me, him and our wee boy that i can do so much more with them now than i could before.

i know exactly how you feel about the plane seats. i havent been on one since i had my wee boy which was 2 years ago now but the last itme i need the extension cable to, i went to jamaica with a friend of mine a few years ago and it was the longest 11 hours of my life on the flight out. i couldnt get my table down and i couldnt listen to the tele or music as my earphone socket was at the side of me but i couldnt get it in as there was no room at all, i was so uncomfy you wouldnt believe. i acutally cried for part of it, it was so awful.
but now on a positive ive no doubt by september there will be no extension cable for you and the only thing you'll be worried about is which bikini to wear on which day biggrin.gif !!!!

And not fogetting a huggeee shopping spree laugh.gif before the partyyyyy.....

Really does sound like your life has changed completely, I understand regarding how O/H didn't mind you being bigger, but now he really must be just sooooo proud Lol like having a new wife shucks.gif laugh.gif
My hubbie is the same, but if I am being honest I would not of lost a lb if he had not been so supportive, really am lucky smile.gif
As for bikini's because I will still have a way to go, probably stick to 14 different black ones laugh.gif because I am tall 5ft 10 swinsuits just do not do me any justice shucks.gif
At least with a bikini I can push my belly into the pants, and pull my boobs into the top part laugh.gif laugh.gif and stick a sarong around me laugh.gif
2506
i think my man gets bored with me going on about it all the time lol, because honestly i never stop talking about it lol! its so much easier if they do support you eh, my o/h has lost over a stone since i joined the club as we all eat a lot healthier now. people say to him as well that he looks likes hes lost weight whcih is really good. he was never really big but he went form nearly 15st down to 13st 7ish. and he feels much better for it as well!

sarongs are fab things! you'll be lookin great! where abouts are you going? we havent booked anywhere this year yet but i really want to go somewhere sunny after last summers wash out here.

totally changing the subject but did you read about the SS of the year lisa milburn? our class manager was telling us she is now at her target wieght and lost over 18st!!!! well i sent her a message on bebo to say well done (although i dont know her but had found her page after she won last summer) and i also said to her about the forum as i wasnt sure if she was on it or not, turns out she not but i think she will maybe join! how great for inspration for all us ladies in this bit especially will it be if she does start posting! i really hope she does, she really does look amazing!!! biggrin.gif
