Oh my goodness...there are loads of posts to catch up with!!! You have been a busy lot!!

I've been pretty busy the last few days....so haven't had much time to come on and with the site being down most of yesterday too....

I'm working until 10pm tonight (same as last night) so I'm feeling a bit spacey though I have the doc tomorrow as my thyroid test results have come back with a change in them....I've been on the same dosage for years so will see what he says tomorrow confused.gif

Hope you are all well and I'll nip back and read over the posts in a bit

Hi everyone - just read through the latest set of posts - great to see so much action here
Jo - thanks got your mail and I'll send over the chart when I get home - Lurpak light - funny this was mentioned in class last night - there is actually very little differience between this and the real macoy - I have to admit I only use proper butter and only have it on a slice of toast occasionaly - rearly on anything else like mashed tatties
Paula - what a stinking time you are having - your poor babe - it horrendous when you get an 'attack of the munchies' - as you all know I had a few (minor ones) last week - I really don't know how you cope with these attacks and the sleepless nights y_scared.gif
The photo - well after looking through the new magazine last night (re the Glasgow Meet) and checking out the new site - I began to feel a little guilty about being 'hidden' - so I hunted through some pictures and cropped this one to put for you to 'see' who you've been chatting to - sorry its an old photo taken whilst on holiday back in 05 - I'm now probably back to being around the weight I was in that photo - I haven't had the courage to post the very very unflattering photo that was taken back in early 07 and that was meant to be an incentive to loose some weight (I'll be honest these photos will probably never be on line) pinch.gif
I'm a little differient now - hair longer and maybe I'll get a new photo when away that I can post on instead - ie a me NOW photo shucks.gif
Now back to checks - 23 saved yesterday and so far today -
breakfast 10 checks / lunch 15 checks (hamless ham salad box - girl in shop forgot to put the ham in confused.gif )
Dinner - still to be decided
Point for discussion - Mum was saying that whilst they were away last week - lovely 4* hotel d b&b deal (christmas present for M&D from us kids) that each morning she had a good breakfast (good as in lots to eat) - likewise when back at the hotel in the afternoons they had 'afternoon tea' and later their 6 course dinner - yes they had the option of 6 courses - now I take after Mum in many many ways - (DH says I'm her clone) - so she too has a weight problem - you'd think that after 5 nights of this she'd have put on weight - but NO - she STS - but she has noticed that now she's home with a standard cereal and toast breakfast - she is picking and snacking throughout the day and as a result expects to have weight on - have any of you noticed this - fortunately whilst at work there is little chance for me snacking but if I went out ???????

Well didn't get to my normal class today as the meeting I was in went on longer than planned.

Anyways went to the lunch time class and get the results of my 2 week binge........................

So now I am off to get my 2 treats then bang its chicken spaghetti for tea tonight followed by a nice walk with the dog and maybe some rebounding on the rebounder.


Am going to make myself a weekly meal and exercise planner up just till I get back into the swing of things.

Got a 10 week pass at class so I am committed and going to kick a$$.

My sister joined weight watchers last night and I am determined that SS is the better plan so the race is on to see who can loss more weight in the 10 weeks.

ethne i have to say i will probably never know what its like to stay somewhere where you can get a 6 course dinner. when me and my other half get a chance to get away for a night it usually just a travelodge type of hotel that we stay in as we tend to only do it if were at concerts or things along those lines. it does sound fabulous though. i'd imagine it would take a bit hard to get back into the swing of things if you had gotten used to that for a few days.

well im looking forward to this new challenge starting. i will be 31 at the end of june so im hoping to get as much off as i can befre then. not got a number in mind but i think it helps me when i have a date to look forward to asd to see how well i can do in the time. i have been really good so far today on the pep, reckon ive had less than 30 checks as ive munching on the jelly and soup again, had some 2 slices of toast and a couple of slices of bread with the soup and a 2 finger kitkat, 3 small pieces of garlic bread (can anyone see a bread theme emerging here shucks.gif) so what do yous think that'll be? its good to get a second opinion lol. i went for a walk up to the next village today which is about a mile there and back, uphill on the way, then came back in and went on the pc again for a wee bit then my mum came in and took the wee boy so i got to the gym thisafternoon as well 500cals worked off biggrin.gif ! im not going to let that easter egg beat me is what im trying to say in a very long winded way! is anyone still reading this?????? y_rasp.gif

Hows things Smiles? Don't work too hard honey. You must be shattered. Gran was quite good last night - talking and quite coherent. Mum phoned earlier and she was back to being really tired and weepy. Its the drugs they're giving her. Its such a shame because she's always been the typical sweet white-haired wee wifie. She was pleased to see me last night though.

Just been listening to the Real Radio phone in. Most of it is people talking c**p but, as the mighty Rangers are doing well, I can tolerate it biggrin.gif . Can't wait to meet QoS in the final biggrin.gif . Listen to me - smug rangers fan. Was going to start going to a yoga class tomorrow night but then I realised we were playing Celtic tomorrow night so guess what won........... I found this yoga centre in Glenrothes and they do different types of yoga and meditation so I'm going to try it since I'm not allowed to do any proper exercise (I mean the gym). had a not too bad day PEP-wise. Have had a glass and a half of wine (I'm not supposed to drink while taking these new drugs so thats why I'm wittering now. Apologies and I'm going to stop now.

Ethne thanks for the advice regarding lurpack, I never buy it usualy, otherwise it would be empty after a day or so, I could easily use most of the packet up on thick sliced toast piggy.gif but for some reason picked some up on Sunday, why do we do this, when we know it is BADDD!!!! y_woot.gif As for the photo is is lovely Ethne and I am the same certainly could not post just any photo haha I think mine I had hubbie trying for about an hour trying o get a half human picture shucks.gif laugh.gif you really must be so very excited about seeing the family in a few days...

Today we had a different Estate agent round to value the house, why can't selling be the same as the Scottish system, so very much better.. have spent a fortune on flowers, plants, strange looking fruit, hand soap and lotion ooooh the list coud go on laugh.gif
On Thursday the photo's are being taken, have managed to decluter some, really is exciting in a way, but with the problems of the market at the moment, we might have problems selling, but we are going to test the market for six weeks and see, luckly all it will cost us is a HIP's report, worth a try anyway..

annie, i hope your gran is better tonight, and hope you are ok to. i didnt know there was a yoga centre in glenrothes, would you mind if i askd where it is shucks.gif ? my brothers girlfriend works in glenro and goes to a gym up there called spirit i think (at the back of jungle jims), she said its really good, they seem to do loads of classes plus she said its not full of folk that are super fit either, all age shapes n sizes she says.
will you be taking a trip to the links market over the next few days? i am going along tomorrow afternoon with the wee boy, it gets to busy once the schools finish. i can remember when i was at high school though how much i loved it and the leven bus home was always packed! memories...... laugh.gif

On top of those other jobs, I also did some ironing tonight too, feeling full of energy today for some reason...hope its weight related y_innocent.gif y_innocent.gif I have had a brilliant week and hope scales reveal the same.

Got some chicken out for tomorrow, going to throw it in slow cooker with some veggies and spices and see how it comes out tomorrow night.

After weigh in on Thursday, I might have a few less strict days/nights, then when I start my hols its right back into it....I'll probably be OK @ work ....but the thought of not sleeping thru the day and being up all night fills me with dread y_scared.gif depressed.gif depressed.gif

paula how are you feeling now? hope your heads better. you have done so well over the last few weeks so try thinking of that and hopefully that'll help make you feel better! i owuld totally agree with you about the malt loaf, if you cant stay away from it then dont buy it! i have had to do that with so many things and i can honestly say that has helped me to stick with it sooo much!

can you make up loads of check free meals or SW alternatives and stick them in the freezer or have lots of now check foods in the house when you think your gonna be up all night! if you have it made up already it would be so much easier to avoid eating anything else that you know is gonna make you feel rubbish the next day!.

i really think i should get a loss this week as i have manged to grab back all the checks i went over. have already been to the gym this moning and now just out the bath, the wee man is having a sleep before we head off to the links market this afternoon. cant wait! as i said on another thread, last year i had to stand and watch the wee man go on all the rides with his dad and my mum but this year after my weight loss its gonna be my turn. im going to take the camera with me so i have the photos to prove to myself just how much all this hard work has helped improve my life shucks.gif smile.gif sorry to sound sloppy shucks.gif

I saw a lovely GP today who tried to explain my thyroid results to me!! blink.gif laugh.gif so anyways, my medication has been increased slightly to 150mcg...hey hum!

I'm still peping pretty well but have no idea what I'm having for my tea tonight...I meant to take chicken out of the freezer to do something with and forgot! I've had 2 late nights with working in the library Monday and Tuesday so I think it'll be an early night tonight....

Hope it's sunny where you are...it's lovely here today although there is a cold wind off the sea!!

Not long home and DH getting ready to watch the match - don't know if I'll stay in the living room or go and do other things - hair, clean out cupboards - whatever
What are you all up to tonight?
Checks today (so far)
breakfast - 10 checks - rice krispies
Snack - 5 checks - 2 kit kat fingers
Lunch - 15 checks - ham salad box
Dinner - 25 checks - 1/2 portion of cantonese s/s chicken with f rice
will probably share a bottle of wine - 11 checks
making it 66 checks today y_shock.gif - therefore leaving me with 13 checks in hand

boy oh boy but it helps to write things down you really see where you could guess and radically underestimate your daily intake

Hello everyone, just wanted to see if the new forum was up and running, and it is. Didn't go to WI tonight either, so that is 2 weeks I have missed now shucks.gif considering going to class on saturday morning, but that means only 4 days before I go back to 'normal' class. Fully expecting a gain, I have been terrible, especially when OH was in hospital last week, just bought and consumed absolute rubbish. Hope everyone is having better success smile.gif

and sorry to see you did not go to class honey, and you have missed two weeks, now I do not mean for this to sound harsh shucks.gif but it might be best to go to class on Saturday if you can, otherwise you are likely to spiral out of control, and when that starts to happen it really is very difficult, to grab hold of it again, please go to class on Saturday, you realy will feel so very much better hug.gif and then visit your usual class four days later, you are probably thinking oh no I will leave it until my next class next week, but sometimes excuses seem to take over and that class never seems to happen, sorry once again if this is sounding harsh honey, but I just do not want you to spiral that is all hug.gif hug.gif Good luck with what you decide smile.gif

I have planned my meals for tomorrow and am raring to go, have set myself a target of a 3 stone loss again by my birthday next year and decided I need to make more time for me. So thats my birthday wishes to myself butterfly.gif

So when does the new challenge start? I have a new recruit!!! As I said the other day my sis Julie aka Fatghirl Slim started WW but guess what she is starving and not mananging to remotely stick to it.

She has about 7 stone to loss not quite a 100lbs but would you all mind if she joined us. She really needs our help and support as her weight is beginning to seriously affect her health. So what do you say? Can she start on our new challenge with us? She is coming back to SS next week with me. shucks.gif

Well I best be going. I will catch up tomorrow and I promise I will be PEP perfect.

Oh almost forgot to say, I managed to get out walking with my dog, so his diet and exercise has well and truely started.

hi folks just a wee quicky to see what everyone else thinks about this idea for the next challenge.

i wonder if any of you think it would be a good idea to start a new thread to go along with the new challenge? for posting results and that in but keep all the chat on this one we already have?
i dont know about anyone else but i dont tend to post in topics that have been running a long time or even look at them if im honest as i think i would just get lost if i started.
now that there are more of us, which is great, it may attract some other new faces to these parts if we posted a new challenge? just an idea though smile.gif

it would be great to know what everyone else thinks!

I've decided to stick at it over the next few nights, tomorrow is treat night anyway and then I only have Friday and Saturday, got my shifts for the week after my hols and I can't wait. Will report after weigh in.

Good luck for weigh in girls, I think we are carrying on from the previous one Paula, but it was only dated to the end of this week, if I remember correctly (haha does not take much to get me confused)!!
The next one is for Summer I think we should do the next challenge until the end of August ie the meet date, I think this would be a great incentive for all of us, (even if not going to the meet, imagine how much we could all lose beforehand in 4 months (18wks or will this be to long? anything from nearly 2 stone)
what about a new name or something? anyone have any ideas 2thumbs.gif y_whistle.gif agree with you Minnie might be best, I do feel while this challenge is going on in this thread it might scare newbies away shucks.gif zipped.gif and I also think that new blood gives us all new motivation and so on.... oooooh it is exciting laugh.gif hug.gif hug.gif

Ok now what are we going to do with the challenge - separate the WI results and charts - what name do we go by - we need to be easily found - and if we are growing we need to set a cap or get a better way of identifying the losses as trying to find them to post on the chart can be very very hard blink.gif - part of me would be disappointed if it left this thread as maybe the same community element we've established would be lost and likewise having a large number of participants could effect the personal supportive challenging chat we have between each other - it might be worthwhile looking at other challenges on the forum to see which you like and which you don't think work in such a supportive way
I have to say that I really really don't want to loose the comaradie that we have going here - IT WORKS and I feel IT HELPS US hug.gif hug.gif
The new challenge - it might be hard to read a new chart spanning right through to the end of Aug - I've got the new chart ready (based on the same no of weeks as the challenge we are just finishing) which takes us to the end of June - then we could do the next challenge No 3 to the end of Aug (again works out to be 8-9 weeks)
I look forward to reading views later book.gif - but be warned I might not get back on line tonight - monthly stitchers group - I will however check in at lunchtime

I think a challenge thread would be a good idea and you could ask the hostess to make it a sticky, that way those of us involved in the challenge can post away on both threads as usual and those who are not wanting to take part in the challenge can still post without feeling we are taking over.

What about adding a wee bit excerise into the challenge. I could be just a wee walk 2x a week or something, just to try and get us all moving? Just a thought.

ethne totally agree with you that we should keep this thread going for all the support, just think it would be easier like you say if we have a seperate thread just for our weekly results which will make it easier not to miss peoples individual results, thats not to say we still cant post them in here anyway, just have 2 on the go at once i suppose, but the other one would make it easier to look back on from time to time?
i hope that made sense blink.gif lol

I think it would a great idea to have a seperate challenge thread, be much easier to keep an eye on results and more folk may join in too 2thumbs.gif and of course keep this one going for support hug.gif

I'd be up for including a wee bit of an exercise challenge with it too as I've been a bit lazy on the exercise front and really must start going out for some walks again (wouldn't think I had a beach front nearly on my doorstep!)

I have planned a perfect PEP menu for today and am planning on sticking to it.....

Tomorrow after work I will go back to the gym, and hopefully over the weekend, and I promise to get back to drinking more water, I really do believe this helps, I am going out tonight, and intend to enjoy myself with the family (will not go crazy tho shucks.gif ) and will be back on the soup tomorrow, to make up for today, I really do need to get back on track, before I start spiralling once again shucks.gif thanks for listening to me going on, and I promise once I get a chance I will read the last few posts rolleyes.gif 1983.gif 1983.gif

Yes the water does help I am doing my best to drink some as I don't really like plain water, but I will get used to it.

Well it looks like I'll be coming back to a new format with a separate thread for registering our losses - I'll need to get the thinking hat on to see if we can come up with a chart which give direct input from each member - saving on missed listings, or errors - let me ponder this
Now we have to come up with a unique name for our challenge - eg '+ girls - reducing (2008 chart 2)' - splitting the year into 10ish week slots give us 5 charts this year - though as we started mid Feb that would be 20 Apr to end of June - July to Sept - Sept to Nov - Nov to new year
Any catchy name ideas? - lets get the thinking caps on cwboy.gif davey.gif pirate.gif

As for the challenge chart, Ethne you have been doing such an amazing job, with the last challenge, would you mind continuing with that, and maybe have it updated twice weekly or whatever is easier for you honey, or continue the way you were doing rolleyes.gif you really are doing an amazing job..

Hi Minnie, the yoga centre is called Synergy and is in the Southfield Industrial Estate near Hedgehogs nursery. They do loads of different things. Their website is www.Synergycentre.co.uk. I've never been to Spirit gym but I do know that a lot of Millennium members left to go there. I'm a member of Balbirnie gym. Its ok. Bit basic but the instructors are really good.

Not going to Links market but used to like when I was younger. I'm supposed to be going out in Kirkcaldy (Blue Mondays - love it!) on Saturday night but thats maybe not such a good idea as the place will be mobbed.

Gran still not good. The drugs are making her really drowsy. Going in to see her tonight.

Will catch up later, lunchtime finished.
