Just a wee note, maybe help cut down on those expensive gym memberships. Quite a lot of the local Community Schools in Fife have gyms in them that are open to the public in the evening, there not fancy ( and full of posers) but they are cheap and usually have monthly Unlimited Pass deals. The one I go to cost £18.75 and you can use as many times as you like.
Just a thought.

sounds like good value Donald....another good idea is to check if you can get a discount through your employer..I can use all gyms/swimming/exercise classes in North Lanarkshire for £22 a month(-discounted by over £10 monthly through my work.)

I recently took the plunge and joined the gym again.
I use the Perth and Kinross Council ones which gives me access to all the council gyms and leisure pool and Health Suites for £27.50 per month. I would be cheaper £22.50 per month if I was to take the health suite out, but i use it for when my kids are swimming to make sure they have nice clean individual shower cubicles.
So far I have been 3 times this week. I love it when I get there, I just hate the thought of going.
Good luck and happy exercising

I'm just back from the gym, West Lothian council Xcite gyms - £38 per month for anytime access to any Xcite gym, swimming, all fitness classes and other sports ie badminton, squash. Can add kids for £12 per month.
Just like Laura the thought of going there is tough but feels great when you get there, even better when you have finished lol.....

Anyone have any ideas where there's a relatively cheap gym in Glasgow. I've not been to the gym since leaving uni in May and it's starting to show. My energy levels are really low and I feel like I don't burn cals nearly as quickly as I would like.
Anyone?!!! HELP!!!

Hi Han.... Google 'Glasgow Clubs' and you will find the nearest council one in your area... Im in Glasgow too.. Scotstoun is a good one!
Although I pay through the nose for my gym, I use it a lot... I have just upgraded my membership to a 'celcius' membership which is now £74 a month but oooooh the luxuries you get are unreal... 2 towels when you go in.. 20% off food and bar prices (we eat there a lot - food is amazing!) , 12 guest passes, free sunbed use (dont use those though!) and it also includes the private 'Spa area'.. which is fantastic - spa, sauna, steam room sanarium and even a plunge pool... This section is up at the top of the building and its all open plan and you get a view over Glasgow and there are no big light.. Just dim yellow and green ones.. Its amazing.... Spend 3hrs in the gym/swim/spa today... 3rd time of going this week.. plan to be there again tomorrow

Still loving the gym, just picked up a leaflet to see what opening hours are over the festive period. It's not too bad, early close xmas eve, closed xmas day, boxing day.
Again early close hogmany and closed the 1st and 2nd.
Just dissappointed that mine are closed from tuesday till saturday this week, when I have spare time on my hands and could really do with the extra exercise to compensate for my xmas night out for Friday.
Oh well, will just have to work harder next weekend I guess!!!
