Sorry to hyjack the forum on a non SS related question but...

I know someone (Sadly not me confused.gif ) who is in the process of planning to get a lovely new 'range style' cooker (free standing) fitted into a new kitchen and she is getting conflicting information unsure.gif .... Is there a minimum distance that has to be between the side of the cooker and the cupboards?

there is if the adjoining surface/surfaces are flammable fi ie wooden worktops not protected by metal end strips.....unfortunately i am commercial corgi registered, so the measurements i have to hand would not be relevant ; if you dont need an immediate answer, i will let you know as soon as i can check it for you - may not be before monday but i will try and look it up sooner if able.

That would be great. Can I assume that all cupboards bought (MFi etc) will be of BS standard? does that have anything to do with it?

i'm not sure if there is any standards to note, it is any flammable surface ; but will let you know as much as i can find as soon as poss
