Glad to hear it wink.gif
GinFizz
OK, Gill, you persuaded me to go back to class. I rejoined 1lb heavier than my last home WI, but as it's different scales, evening with clothes on, I'm not too bothered. I was 11st 13, if I'd gone back over the 12 mark I muight feel differently!

I'd forgotten how nice and funny the class manager is. I got a free recipe book for rejoining and it has some nice recipes to try. I had a healthy tea last night and this morning I am having breakfast before work! y_innocent.gif
Myfanwy
Made the pancakes again last night (counted!) and they were yummy. Realised I was effectively trying to fry wallpaper paste on Tuesday, which may explain why they didn't work.

I haven't had a jif lemon in years, and to me it doesn't taste like lemon juice. I normally just juice a proper lemon, but for some reason pancakes always use a jif lemon. Still tasted nice though!
Gill2005
Yay - Good for you Ginfizz!

The only pancakes I enjoy are ones from McD's smothered in their own syrup and ice cream... lipsmacking.gif lipsmacking.gif - I used to have at least 4/5 every day when I worked in there.. Not to mention the large meals at lunchtime too shucks.gif shucks.gif .

I have discovered a love for fish sticks. Plastic pink processed things. yum.
GinFizz
Good news on the pancakes Hannah! smile.gif

Am off to a reasonable start today. Got up late and left without having breakfast. Desperately fancied a bacon roll in the canteen but popped into Sainburys on the way in instead. Have had large brunch (30z crusty seeded roll with 50g lean ham and 25g Philly light plus 1 low fat yoghurt). will have fruit and another yoghurt for lunch as will only have a quick break before I go out to a meeting. Then will have something from the freezer for tea. I have a good stock of HM ready meals from last week.

Need to do some serious menu planning on the weekend though to keep this up. I do find the planning and sticking to it bit hard wink.gif

Maybe one of our challenges could be to try planning in a more ordered way than usual and to report back on how we managed? butterfly.gif
GinFizz
Gill - McD's pancakes and fishsticks.... eeeuw! laugh.gif
Myfanwy
Fish sticks are quite nice in salad I find, so long as you don't think too hard about what's in them!

Have to disagree on the McD's pancakes though - I've had them a few times as everything else on their breakfast menu makes me heave (it all looks really gloppy and greasy, which I can't cope with on the morning), and I've often thought that I'd have been better off eating the box than the cold discs of cardboard masquerading as pancakes...
Gill2005
Oh you should see how the breakfasts are made... especially the scrambled eggs.. It really would make you heave... But the pancakes come in ready made so they were my safest option.. Although I would also devour sausage and egg muffins too whilst I was at it (Now you need never ask why I was 4st overweight!! laugh.gif laugh.gif)

Sounds like a good challenge Ginfizz.. My planning isn't good I tend to count as my day is going along, I am quite good though if I only have a few checks left for dinner then that all I can have! - I always plan my menu out when on booster though so it will be worth giving a go to doing it on PEP.

So very true!!!! I haven't eaten one of those since being down at El's back in November!! y_innocent.gif And they sure must taste better than a McD's brekkie, I would think!!! Need to have free soup and sf jelly all week to compensate though!!
Gill2005
Aye, thats true! Gutted you aren't coming down in a couple of weeks.... I will miss you of course but also the butteries... hahahaha! y_whistle.gif - We must plan another very soon laugh.gif laugh.gif
northernstar
ohmy.gif ....so that's all I am....the butteries supplier!!!???!! y_rasp.gif laugh.gif
I'm gutted I won't manage down this time too....I'm looking forward to seeing all the pics and hearing all about it though!! Fingers crossed I'll make it down soon and yep I will probably have butteries in tow!! hug.gif
GinFizz
Eeek - 2 weeks to Glasgow!!! Haow did that come around so quickly? surrender.gif

Gill - may I still kip on the sofa please..... y_whistle.gif

I can't do butteries but I could bring welshcakes!
Myfanwy
Mm, welshcakes! lipsmacking.gif I could bring stotties, but they're not that interesting unless stuffed to the gunnells with bacon!
Lisino
I like fishsticks too - they are only 1 check each - nice chopped up in salads

i have 4 genuine Northernstar butteries in the freezer!

hello hello

my positive thing today is i have no money in bank which resulted in them knocking my card back in sainsbury's last night - oh the shame - but am about to go and sort it out online. Also, I had a nippy email from someone today but managed to phone them up and it was much easier on the phone.

Right - better sort put my penniless penury pending payday!

well done for putting on new appointment Hannah

take care all xxxx
Gill2005
Of course you can Ginfizz.. P.s) What's a welshcake? y_shifty.gif or a stottie for that matter?!

Right ladies, I need to be the best I have ever been for the next 7 days.. I have a size 12 outfit that I MUST be into by next Friday.. Its currently a tight 12 but it needs to just be a normal 12 in the next 7 days. laugh.gif Im carb cutting which will hopefully help and I'm going to drown myself in water too!! And of course, I will have to invest in some spanx!!

Gym and swim tomorrow.. How's everyone else doing exercise wise?? x
Gill2005
P.s) Hannah...

Just checked my train and I get into Queen Street at 11.37 (crikey that's early!) and I promise no repeat of last time...

Hey hannah, you can get back on a train at Queen street to Anniesland (approx 8mins and £2) and I can pick you up from that station if you wanted? Saves carrying about bags etc?

Or we can meet you in town at that time and start early?? ext_beer2.gif ext_beer2.gif ext_beer2.gif
GinFizz
Aw bless El, I've had ythe bank card thing happen too and it's grim! Hope it's all sorted now! smile.gif

I went to yoga tonight! Never tried it before. Was a 90 minute session - about 50 mins really hard stretching and holding exercises, then all the lights turned off and a relaxation/breathing exercise, complete silence for about 10 mins and then chanting in a circle and stretches before the end. I have no idea what I was expecting (especially wasn't expecting the teacher to be a big bloke with a loud voice! y_shock.gif ) but it was great and I can't wait to go again. Might even inspire me to do some training at the gym too as my upper body strength (arms in particular) is rubbish! My balance was good though and I was fine with the breathing. And able to cope with the chanting as the lights were out! shucks.gif

Have stayed well within points today. Hungry now but knackered so am going to bed and will have a good breakfast in the morning.

G'night all xx
GinFizz
PS Gill - we cross posted!

Wow, size 12 is a distant dream for me, but you can do it! Get that skinny arse into the gym and work it!!!!!! 2thumbs.gif
Gill2005
Thanks Gin... Yoga sounds like hard work.. I thought it was sitting/lying on a mat and breathing!! laugh.gif xxx
soots
Hi All...late night posting.....been a busy gal this evening and not long home....
so thought I'd report in afore heading to bed!...
Great result at the scales tonight.....4lbs off! y_woot.gif
Totally didnt expect that.....thought maybe 2lbs....but will quite happily take it!
Down to 45 checks now.... y_shock.gif with another 2st and a bit to go.....
Going to have to be really careful the next week tho...out on Friday and Saturday...
Going jogging and walking in the morning...hopefully!
catch you all later in the day....xx

Gill2005
Fab loss Soots!!!

Off to gym.. Catch up later x.x.x

Drink! Drink!

I've never got on with yoga, for a variety of reasons. The first time I tried it it was a course at a local school, and she insisted on us being barefoot in the filthy school gym, and all I could think of was the verrucas I was contracting. Tried it again a few months ago and it was taken by a pencil thin eastern European woman who kept telling us to 'invite the possibility' of stretching muscles (ie. give it a go). I'm not good with hippy clap trap and she was a bit too far up her own bottom for my liking. Plus she didn't give any support whatsover - she just let me make lots of mistakes, some of which I think could have been dangerous (including resting my head on the floor in the downward dog and letting the pressure build on the back of my neck).

I'm not very good with classes - I get easily intimidated by the super fit ones and don't like asking for help, so I usually struggle pathetically at the back, face burning with embarrassment, and never go back. I'd much rather run on the treadmill with my iPod on and ignore everyone else!
GinFizz
Morning All! butterfly.gif

I'm still feeling fab from last night's yoga - never felt like this about exercise before! I ache a bit but not badly. Went to bed without having proper tea as I was so relaxed and sleepy so have just had lovely big breakfast at my desk before strting work this morning.

I'm going to book a session at the gym at work to see if I can work on my upper body strength, It will help with the yoga and also help me get on with the decorating I need to do at home. I have been recognising for a while that I have started to struggle with painting walls etc because my arms are not as strong as the rest of me.

It sounds like yoga classes can vary a lot Hannah, I might post a thread to ask other people what happens in their classes. I'm definitely going back to mine next week though. y_innocent.gif

Where are we all this afternoon? butterfly.gif

Hope everyone is getting ready for a lovely weekend!
soots
Good afternoon....

Hope I find you all in fine fettle..... I feel just grand! 2thumbs.gif
Had a longish lie today, got up at 9 instead of 6 so that was a good start!
Had decided, with youngest son last night that we would go walking/running in the morning and I was to wake him at 10.30, which I duly did....and got passed over in favour of another hour in bed!
So out with the WII fit and did half an hour on that, thinking we would go out once he surfaced!
When he did finally emerge from his slumber, I was yet again passed over, this time in favour of 2 younger models and a trip to the cinema..... confused.gif
I guess jogging with your sweaty puffing and panting mum dosnt compare to two young gals and a film!
I let him off has he has been very good with me and my running up till now...and he promises to come tomorrow....I wont be holding my breath tho!

I was really up for it tho and despite hinting a lot at my eldest son that I didn't want to go on my own, he just wouldn't play ball!
So set my sights on my oh when he came home at lunch time and as he is in the middle of major 'sucking up duties' at the mo....he obliged me!
I jogged/walked...he walked! I'm getting a bit better every time I go...but still a long way off a full 5k run!!

This afternoon I've done a bit of 'me time' pampering. A Body Thearapy Salute Salt Scrub, a nice long soak in the tub,
a brisk cool shower. Then a Clairns face and eye mask and nails done!!! Fake tan applied!
Nice cup of green tea and here...... 2thumbs.gif

I used to love yoga classes...but they are hard come by in theses parts.
I agree that a lot depends on the instructor as to what you get out the class.
I wouldn't mind trying yoga again and would love to try Tai Chi classes!
Must have a good look about and see whats available in my area.....
Hope you all have a super weekend.....x
Gill2005
Sounds like your day has been lovely Soots!

I've been out most of the day.. Trying to keep out the house during the day so OH can sleep cause of his night shifts!

My tummy is growling at me as I type, Ive made fresh fish to have with cabbage, broccoli and leek!

I'm away for the weekend so I will catch up with everyone on Sunday.. If I'm capable wink.gif

Have a great weekend everyone x.x.x
Gill2005
Ohhh no I will log in tomorrow with my result.. fingers crossed... x
GinFizz
Oooh, good luck with the weigh in Gill! smile.gif

I'm up and about and have heaps of washing to do today. Hope the weather holds so it can blow dry outside...

May go into town but it is a rugby day so would have to go quickly, park at mums and get a bus in as the place soon gets mad on international days. Don't NEED anything though, just fancy a browse so will have a think about that.

Also need to go through the freezer and cupboards to see what I have in that I can use up as part of my meal planning next week...

Happy weekend everyone xx
Gill2005
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I weigh 10st 13lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! y_woot.gif y_woot.gif y_woot.gif

Brilliant Gill...Well Done.... 2thumbs.gif

It certainly spurs me on to hear it!! Have a Great weekend!
GinFizz
Fantastic Gill!!

Have you found things in your mega full wardrobe that fit you again now? And things that are too big? smile.gif
shoe
Morning ladies.

Gill - well done, that's brilliant 2thumbs.gif

I'm away on hols next week so went shopping yesterday and got some tops and basic holiday items as had none! Still need to get a few things but do that this week butterfly.gif

I am also excited for the meet, can't believe that is so close. It will be nice to see everyone again smile.gif

Not much planned for today, more course work (story of my life at the moment) and will try to stay on track. Will post all the boring details of that in my blog.

Enjoy your Sunday x
Gill2005
Thank you guys!!

Yeah Ginfizz, I'm finding that I can just put jeans on without worrying if I have to stay in them all day etc.. If I knew I was going to be out all day then I would put on comfier stuff cause they were all far too tight to have on for long periods but now they are my comfy trousers!

Still have clothes that are too small (they have never fitted though and still have tags on!) so I'm looking forward to getting into those.. Ahhh to be slimmer for summer! 2thumbs.gif

Where are you off to on your hols Shoe? xxx
Gill2005
Good afternoon!

How's everyone doing? I'm tired, cranky and hungry... never a good combination!! x

Na, not me, supposed to be working on assignment but keep sneaking on here y_whistle.gif . Couldn't leave you all by yourself biggrin.gif
I'm going to Spain on my hol, never been, can't wait. Hope your night is less cranky xx
GinFizz
Haha lives indeed..... rolleyes.gif

Sounds like a brill holiday Sue, can I come too biggrin.gif

Gill, why so cranky? pirate.gif

Have had a busy day at work. Proud to say that even though I woke up late I quickly made a fruit salad for breakfast and heated a flask of HM soup for lunch. Not hungry for tea as came in too late and am having gin and orange for tea instead..... y_whistle.gif

The challenge this week was food planning right? Well, I haven't stuck perfectly so far but just the act of itemising what's in the fridge and freezer etc and the rough plan has made me clear about what my options are for the week.

I usually spend around £4 on lunch in the canteen so have decided to save £4 every day I take my own lunch to treat myself to something nice when I have got back down into the 10sone something bracket (you have inspied me Gill!). I already have lots of clothes that fitted me briefly last year so maybe a spa day or something.... butterfly.gif

Gill, do me a favour - tell me how long Rachel measures from her shoulders to knees please smile.gif
Gill2005
Was just TOTM cranky.. Fine now though smile.gif - Well I was til I heard where you are going on holiday Sue.. Mega jealous. y_whistle.gif

That is such a great idea Ginfizz! - Make sure you put that money away every single day.. I will measure Rachy in the morning as she is fast asleep just now biggrin.gif - I have never had a spa day before so I think I might come and gate-crash when you do treat yourself.. A spa day then a wine evening.. How does that sound... y_shifty.gif ??

That's me just getting round to having dinner.. Had a late breakfast and lunch and am only just hungry.. But if I dont eat just now then I will wake up super hungry so gonna have a wee snack!
Myfanwy
Hello all. I'm rotten at the moment - ragged throat and keep going hot and cold. Going to have to cancel tomorrow's doc's appointment as I've now got full blown totm, and it's really heavy.

Weigh in tonight, and I'm not massively hopeful - I'm so tired lately that I can't be bothered to cook at all at the minute, so I'm having some very interesting dinners!

Sorry you're feeling rotten Hannah. Maybe you could go to the GP anyway - it's unlikely you would have a physical exam in a 10-min standard appointment slot but maybe they could give you advice and book you in for another time if necessary? If you have experienced heavy bleeding then it would be wise to get checked out for anaemia xx

Well I am on day two of my meal planning and it is a pain in the arse getting up and making lunch every morning but it isn't as bad as I had built it up to be and I must say it is lovely sitting at my desk with a flask of bolognese instead of trotting over to the canteen in the rain smile.gif

I have been out though - over to the gym to ask about personal training. I am going in at 7.30 tomorrow for a quick free induction to the new machines and then from next Weds I am going to have weekly 1-1- personal traing sessions to get me into a routine. 5 x 1 hour sessons for £70 which seems pretty good.

I have my bag packed for yoga tonight... aren't I being good? biggrin.gif

Am absolutely knackered and could curl up in a ball and sleep forever but I think that is the reason why I need to push myself and go.... I need to get out of the rut I'm in xx
Gill2005
I hope you enjoy yoga tonight Ginfizz.. You will feel so much better after you have been! That's an amazing price for a personal trainer.. I won't even go into how much I pay for mine.. y_whistle.gif
