Morning all.
Didn't get to the gym this morning - was far too sleepy as I stayed up to watch Glee last night. Will drag myself there after work instead though.
Booked our evening band for the wedding yesterday so that's another thing done. This isn't as difficult as I thought it would be, mind you I'm sure the problems will appear soon enough!
Did our shopping last night and have planned my meals for the week, thankfully my trousers don't feel too tight today, yesterday was a bit of a fright!
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx

Morning all
I love Glee, wasnt sure if it would be any good but i actually quite like it, its my new favourite thing lol!!
anyway not had food yet, contemplating going to the gym this evening, or at least taking a walk over there to find out about memberships and stuff, wondering if they may have student prices as 43 pounds a months seems a bit steep. however i dont know if i want to do that straight away but i would like to go to 3 classes and 3 swims a week wich i think is really expensive if i pay sepratly. was thinking of just getting the student leisure card and then paying sepratly per swim untill im in the habbit of going regularly. but then there is body combat and body pump that i want to go to, not sure if i should do it now or just start with the swimm for a while to get up fitness levels as havent exercised in what seems like forever!!
fitness plan i would like to do (funds permitting)
Monday morning - swim
Tuesday 5:30 - body combat
Wednesday morning - body combat and swim
Thursday - 5: 30 ab attack then body combat
Friday morning - Swim
then if i fancy anything on a sat or sund then i can but its not essential.
obviously cant do all this in one go. but would like to eventually. but im worried about becoming bored with just doing one thing, or after a week or two lose all motivation and stop going (which what i normally do)Jaci your queen of the gym any advise and how to get into the exercise bug?
anyway put the plan on the chart for today.
will be back im sure

My pep head is back on today after a couple of days which went a bitty haywire...I took some homeopathic treatment on Friday/Saturday and it seems to have given me an upset tum!
We are off to look at a car tonight...cheap runaround really but fingers cross it will do and then a carvery for tea, and I can fill my plate up with free veggies!
Carly...who have you booked as your band?? Sounds like all your plans are coming together!

Wow you lot are fab.....so chatty and supportive today - I'm loving it!!!
I had a heck of a day at work, hopefully not to be repeated anytime soon....off tomorrow so not going to dwell
Been to toning and just settled the wee man, Russ not home until 9.00ish so a mega late dinner tonight -I'm starving!!!! Just had my yoghurt to tide me over, planning to make egg foo yung - so worth the wait.
Ainey - super pleased for you hun, hope you managed to visit him tonight?
Jenni - the key to exercise for me is ONLY to do things you genuinely enjoy - trying to force yourself because its good for you just wont work....so keep and open mind and try lots of things until you find what suits you. Dont stretch yourself too thin either, dont commit to 5 sessions if really you can only manage 2 or 3 - cut yourself some slack, anything is better than nothing. Have fun and enjoy.
Back in a bit xx

Evening all.
Went to the gym straight from work. It was so busy - I haven't seen people queueing for machines before. It was enough to convince I'll be going back to going first thing in the morning instead!
Had some lovely chicken for tea - I put some low fat mozzarella on a chicken breast then wrapped some parma ham with the fat removed round it. It tasted sooo good!
Anyways, trying to do software updates for my ipod which are taking ages so will update the food charts, I really didn't feel as hungry today as yesterday, probably because my stomach has realised we're not messing about anymore and we're back to normal!
Hope everyone has had a fab day! xx

Jaci i joined the jim today and went swimming, really really enjoyed it so am going to aim to do this 3 times a week then maybe add in a class. i remember liking body combat from my old gym but will try a few and see what one i like best. and just build them up. i certainly have the time to do 5 but dont want to do them all at once or else i wont continue with it.

Aww fab Ainey, bet he will be pleased to be home.
I'm having a nightmare with my Sky might miss BL at this rate - its doing some system download thing but it never worked first time ......aaaaargh!
So guys - Free Meringues
You need - 1 egg and 2 level tbsp heat stable granualted sweetner (eg splenda)
*Pre heat oven to 110 degreed c/gas mark 0.5
* Using electric whisk on high, whisk egg white until fairly stiff. Add sweetner and continue to whisk at slow speed until standing in peaks.
* Spoon out 8 heaped teaspoons of the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment. Bake approximately 1 hour or until crisp and dry.
* Use as a snack or to garnish desert.
Enjoy x

Morning All
Well happy days.....the god of a good nights sleep has finally blessed us! Mack is only just up at 7.30 after 3 days of 5am starts and its my day off.....woohoo!
So we are just having a cuppa, Russ is also off but having a wee lie in - then the plan is to go swimming and out for some lunch. We are thinking the Beefeater since its now in the new check book - yay!
This afternoon I'm making home made fishcakes from the slim mums, healthy kids book. I have never had them before, Russ and I are not great fish fans (I wish I was its sooo low in cals) but I dont want us to influence Mack negatively so going to try a few different fishy things to try and get us going.
Then its Pump tonight ....and thats all our excitement lol..
Shona - MASSIVE well done on your loss, amazing through xmas etc, hope that gave you a boost. Maybe see you tonight. As for the meringues my only tip is bake them long and low, the oven kind of drys them out I suppose.
So what about BL then - who do we all want to win?? I like most people actually which is quite unusual lol I'm least liking the yellows and the browns I think and prefering the blues, blacks and greens - the blues are soooo funny.

Still not feeling great so no gym for me today but I am heading out for a brisk walk in the rain with the dogs round the inch.
Got loads of tidying to do today- want the house all spik and span before I go back to work on Sunday.
Unfrotunatly my hoover is knackered so I am going to have to go buy a new one today.
And to make it worse I will have to put it on my Visa Card.
Anyways off now to change the beds and them mop the floors.

I'm slinking back girls
I've had enough of the mooping around and letting other lesser 'beings' have an impact on MY life and MY welfare - in my mind I'm slowly pushing them along the pier and off the end - no doubt there will still be ripples but if I have my way that's all they will be
I've started a blog here to hopefully help me keep track and get me back in the ZONE
I'm still not prepared, either shopping or mentally but made a decision to start reposting with you all before lunch today so that is one positive step
I've also decided to go back to class on Monday
I'll dust off what's lying around the house, do some shopping and try to plan some sort of exercise
The target date is still the same - my brothers wedding in later October this year - but I need as much off as possible to get an outfit organised by early autumn
So Jaci please add me to the chart and give me a good prod to get PEPping

It took me over an hour for a walk that normally takes about 40mins. it was so slippy on the cleared ground and hard going in the snowy ground
Ainey all that energy will now be draining after your recent trials. They will return.
Jaci that is great you are all feeling better and getting back to normal too

We have had a lovely day thanks - swimming was great, Mack loved it, super confident, jumping in and splashing. Then we went our for lunch
Came home tidied round a bit, been to pump and now just cooking our salmon fishcakes. I made Macks earlier and he scoffed the lot so looks like they were a hit there....he has a salmon fish cake, green beans, asparagus, sugar snap peas, brocolli and corn on the cob - DEMOLISHED! Its was so cute watching him hammer into a corn on the cob - he's just wee.

I checked back to the beginning of the thread and see that there were some introductions - as I've been missing from the thread (though probably one of the founding members) I'll give a brief history
I had great success with SS back in about '94 - lost 3st in 1 year
I'm 47 years old - my online name is Littlefire - the meaning of my christian name
Got married in '96 and slowly but surely the weight crept on - my GSD broke my leg back in 2000 - ended up with surgery and pins etc and the weight kept creeping on as I did less and less as I was favouring my leg
Started back with SS in Nov 07 - had a good year and a half and lost about 2 stone then the next year and a half - well I was rubbish - in-law family problems really got to me last year and I just let it all get me down big style
That's basically when I drifted away and wallowed
There has been a small crack in that casing today and I came back onto the site and decided to start posting and actually get going again
I haven't weighed in yet, but will tomorrow - then I'll know how much I've got to loose to get to 11 to 11.5 stone target - and if I get there I'll be dead chuffed
but here's hoping I can make a good dent in the first 7lbs before the end of this month
Jaci - PM'd you

Ethene well done for breaking through and coming back, were all full of motivation at the min so there definatly the support to spure you on!! stick with us!!

ok so i had a really yummy treat tonight, 5 cadburys fingures and a big cuppa mmmmm nothing special but it was just wat i needed!! and only 5 checks. so used them all today however i am rather peckish but am in bed with hot water bottle resisiting all temptation to raid the fridge. Morning all,
I was just so exhausted last night and this morning. I don't know where that's come from! Must be the strain of having to work a full week for this first time in almost a month!
There was no gym yesterday but I went for a fast walk for an hour over lunch and I'll do the same today. Will maybe go on the wii later too when I get home.
Still no news on the polar bear. Technically birth season runs until the end of January so it might be a bit longer BUT the zoo aren't even sure she's definitely pregnant so I could be watching this webcam for nothing! (well not really for nothing I love a good polar bear and when she's not asleep it's quite entertaining!) There's been more movement the last couple days so I'm hoping it's due to labour pains! I also quite enjoy San Diego Zoos pandacam (my name is carly and I'm an animal geek!) as they have a baby panda just now.
Still being a good pep-per so at least that's something to carry forward into next week. Think I'm back in the zone! xx

Morning fellow Musketeers
Bit of an emotional day yesterday, took Mum through to see my Aunty, most of the afternoon was spent crying, laughing, crying, laughing, still, I think it helped everybody concerned. I think Barry dying has hit me a bit harder than I expected, as, whilst we were on our cruise, I had another Uncle die un-expectedly, my Dad's half-brother. Oh well, life goes on
Slightly better news, lost 5.5lbs this week
now down to a weight I haven't been since 23rd April 2002
I checked back an old class card
Whatever I am doing this time, it's working
Was it a "normal" size corn cob you gave the babe to eat Jaci? You should've got a photo
Welcome back Ethne
Hope you all have a good Thursday

However, I got up and moving this morning and went to Body Attack. It was fab, really hard work but I made it through.
Booked in for Body Step tomorrow.

Off now for a quick shower and have some lunch.

Right best get on as I have a meeting at school at 2.30pm and I am still gutting my house. Can you beleive I threw out 12 black bags from the kids rooms this week- some went to charity though.

Thanks for the tip on zoo babies will try that tonight.
Will really need to get my self motivated just no energy or interest, other half been on holiday this week so yet again have not stuck to checks.
Been at Dr this week as yet again feeling really down, he looked back my notes and wonders if I am suffering from SAD (other half seems to agree) Im not sure looked it up on line I have most of the signs but Its over £100 for the light box they recommend.
Anyway more disappointment as I failed this Uni module and will have to resubmit
Better new though daughter was in hospital for op yesterday and although her nose was more closed over than had been expected we had managed over a year between operations.
Mum has offered to go out with me for walks so that should help, will need to get motivated during rest of the week might still manage to loose!!
Back on night shift next week so will have to work out how to sort out my eating pattern anyone got any tips normally I either eat all night or starve depend on how busy the ward is or who I am working with.
Anyway sorry for long post

OK, still haven't found my books so please keep me right girls
weighed in tonight at 17st 8.5 lbs - I make that a check allowance of 55
so today I've had
1 weetabix, s/s milk from allowance and 1 tsp sugar - 5 checks
carrot, swede, cabbage (all boiled) with <30g of smoked cheese (130 cals per 25g) and one mini pot of lf fom frais - 10 checks
homemade lentil soup with 2 crusty rolls
(they are 300 cals total) - 20 checks
5 classes of no sugar dil juice - nil
fruit for supper - nil
Am I right? So that makes it about 35 checks today leaving me with 20 in hand - what do you think
