I'm here, skiving off lectures. I'm meant to be in a lecture at 4, but my morning one finished at half ten and I couldn't get on to a computer and do work so there was no way I was hanging around until 4! Working hard now...

Wow, how did Monday come around so quickly??!!!!
Well, I need to hang my head in shame for the amount of eating I have done. I DREAD having to ring my 'stand-in' coach tomorrow, as my usual personal coach is on leave. Eeek, I hope she is nice to me.....
This week is my first official training week for the Edinburgh Moonwalk. I have already been out lots walking but from this week on I have a plan and a chart to fill in and everything.... please nag me!!!
Lisino
Feb 22 2010, 05:47 PM
Well done on starting your training - charts are good! You starting off with 2 miles three times a week?
My training buddies were running yesterday. I walked along and caught up with them when they stopped for a rest. Worked out quite well.
Isn't it quiet today!
I am too crabbit to post today, so am keeping schtuum.

If you want nagging Gin then this could be just the place.
Back to school today and because we had snow there were no children, used the time well though and managed tofinally complete a long complex on-line training course

Hi all....
Busy week so far...but when all said and done its been a good week!!
Weighed in last night......lost another 3lbs, highly delighted to say the least!!
Had a major 'mind wobble' mid week......and wasn't going to go to class, however experience and a nagging oh who has 'been there and done it' with me got me to class and I'm glad !!
That said we have been out tonight for a celebration meal as a family, it took a while to get a time that suited everyone, however it was important to get together as a family and recognise what we had/and still are going thru as a family and celebrate the fact we have come thru it!!
I'm very proud of my kids, and think they are indeed fine young men!!.....
Been 14 days without a grape juice...(major for moi!!...lol ) .and really enjoyed the grape tonight..but going to knuckle back down tomorrow, got the bit between my teeth now....lol!
Well done on your losses girls..we are so gonna kick ass this year!!!!

Some good losses girls! I'm feeling a bit off today - sneezy and a bit fuggy. Unfortunately I was working my abs last night at training and it hurts when I sneeze, which isn't good. Still loving the training though, and still on my PEP, so doing ok.

Feb 25 2010, 09:58 PM
Have had some ibuprofen and am feeling moderately better. Just trying not to sneeze though!
Have just been pottering on the net and have somehow stumbled upon the fact that Ryanair staff have to pay 3,000 euro for their training, then have their wages docked for uniform and IDs every month. Blimey.
Lisino
Feb 27 2010, 12:12 AM
You have to pay to work for them then? hardly seems fair does it?
Well i must report another stay the same - have made a few schoolgirl errors this week so am not surprised (no time for walks, some lovely 600-calorie 'healthy' granola, the cheesey pasta, planning lapses and the massive pasta sequel. But this week is going to be better.

Feb 27 2010, 09:31 AM
I thought that was a bit much too. Apparently they can also relocate you to any other airport of their choice with only a week's notice too.
That's not too bad if you know where you've gone wrong. I had a bad day yesterday - no lunch or dinner but six pints of beer and some chocolate biscuits. I'm meant to be training this morning but my wisdom tooth is paining me again and I'm coming down with a cold. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and have my wisdom teeth out. Argh.
GinFizz
Feb 27 2010, 09:38 AM
Oh God, I've had such a bad week I have been scared to come back! Thanks Hannah and El for being honest about your own mistakes.
Really stressy week at work, barely got time at home to do anything but catch some sleep. (Sorry Gill for not ringing

)
No walking at all, 2 takeaways and 4 bottles of wine......
Time to draw a line and pick myself up again.....

Ooh - wisdom teeth pain is the pits.
Gin - you are stressed you can't do everything. I think I would concentrate on one thing - the walking or the eating plan. And I think fitting in the walking would be good for your mental health. Let's find you a walking group to join at weekends or something? having company makes it more enjoyable.
GinFizz

I would like to find a walking group, I just feel shy about getting started.
I am enjoying walking in the park in work at lunchtimes, when I make the time for it. How do I find a walking group?
Myfanwy
Mar 1 2010, 11:02 PM
I tried to find a walking group in Newcastle, but drew a blank apart from the Ramblers, but that wasn't really what I was looking for.
Distracted myself from my wisdom tooth pain by walking into a bamboo cane I'd stuck in the ground at an angle - walked into it at full pelt in the dark, and managed to cut my leg open (through my jeans!). Ow. Sniff.
Big favour to ask - my trainer and some of my fellow lunatics have entered the Drambuie Pursuit (some kind of painful looking outdoor thing on the Isle of Skye), but only the top 4 teams (as voted by you!) get to participate. I'm sure if you voted for them, instant good karma would be yours. And it's for charidee to boot...

I'm probably being thick too, so your not alone El....what team do I vote for?? I'll vote for anything that has Drambuie in it's title...lol
Not had a good week this week, I've tried, but after our meal out last Wednesday I never really got back in the groove.
WI tonight, but I wont hold my breath for a loss! (actually...I probably will hold my breath on the scales..I usually do..lol!)
On a weeks holiday this week and have been fantastically lazy, partly due to having a cold *sniff, cough* but mostly due to just being incredibly 'cant be bothered' lazy!!
Hopefully after WI tonight I'll find my mojo again and knuckle down for the remaining 3 weeks of class!
Huge hugs to all who need it...((((())))))

Annoyed with myself for letting mind talk convince me otherwise because when I read back what I had eaten over the week...its okay...pretty good in fact!!
I just dont understand why I get myself in such a tizz when it comes to weigh in!!
I can do this...I just need to start believing in myself!!!

Shamefacedly popping in to say 'hello'.
I've been so full of a cold this week that even popping on here has been beyond my capabilities - hoping a restful weekend will help.
Myfanwy
Mar 5 2010, 10:16 PM
I have to also confess to apathy at the moment. Reached a bit of a crossroads and am feeling a bit 'meh', as my sister would put it.
Long story ahead, but bear with me! Had a few problems last year that I won't go into, but the result of that was a diagnosis of anxiety. I was referred to a psychiatrist privately, and I've just started seeing my psychiatrist last week. Anyway, in the meantime, I had problems with a particular personal relationship, and I sought help from the university counsellor, which I began at the end of last year. Anyway, to cut a long story short, both my counsellor and psychiatrist have come to the same conclusion (neither knows I'm seeing the other as I thought the issues were unrelated. This is really complicated!), that my problems stem from low self esteem.
Anyway, what I'm wondering is if I need to face my self esteem demons before my eating ones? My eating seems to go in circles - I have a good week, then it tails off. I don't even know if I'm asking a question. It just seems I have no long term stamina when it comes to losing weight. Argh.
My shrink charges £240 an hour. I don't pay (I have insurance), but I nearly died when I found out. Had I known that, I'd have eaten far more biscuits in the waiting room (in fact I'd have tipped the plate in my handbag and demanded they keep them coming...)
GinFizz
Mar 5 2010, 10:28 PM
Maybe either of your counsellor or psychiatrist could advise you on that Hannah? Intuitively, I would think that healthy eating will have a positive impact on your health and mental health. But stressing over very last check and weighing in every week may not help right now?
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling and I hope the help you are getting will continue to make you feel better xxx
