I'm crying off exercise class until my cough is better, too Hannah. No need to give up though. Cold nights = time to make free soup! (As long as I stay away from the shops!)

I desperately need to go to the supermarket, but as I can't get the car out I'm living off the odd stuff I happen to have in the house (which at the moment is hot cross buns unfortunately!).
I have to go in to town tomorrow (on the metro!), so I'll pick up some essentials at M&S or Waitrose (although at their prices it'll have to be the bare essentials!)

Happy New Year!
You are all sounding super positive, lots of activity and good shopping intentions.
I am ready for some straight talking from you ladies! Nae excuses. I'm a binger. I'm a comfort eater, - and? well I need to find better ways of dealing with stuff i don't like. Not stuffing my face when I feel rubbish. It's not going to be easy but i have to do it.
Well today has gone well - first day back at work and no rubbish food. Have asked OH to take the tin of roses into his work. I don't think we got any more sweeties. People finally taking note that he is a diabetic and i am continually on a diet?
Did not go overboard at Christmas. Haven't weighed in but will be positive about it in line with our new strictly positive regime. Can I not moan a wee bit? I enjoy moaning.
The 'bingeing' books I read last year really helped me get my thoughts in a constructive place.
I cannot just have one wee bit of chocolate because I always want more
I cannot just have one wee crisp because I always want more ... cut them out entirely and I will get past the craving ... Depriving myself? ... What am I depriving myself of exactly? a pair of troosers fit for king kong maybe.
What is the point of having one last gutzing session before starting again? just get on with it
I can't get online as much as before but I'll try and pop in regularly

I hope you do get on as often as you can Lisino! I'm the same these days what with nursery runs and working in the afternoons etc but I will try and get on as often as possible!!
Weighed in today - wasn't pretty. Not in the slightest, but it's my own fault so I'm no gonna complain about it - just hopefully do something about it!
Like Myfanwy, my cupboards are bare and as OH on nightshift this week all the tims and packets from the cupboards will get used up as I won't get a chance to get to the supermarket (prob wise cause I'm skkkkiiinto) and will want to buy lots of healthy stuff which costs a bomb.. Grrr!
Gonna try and exercise most days... Got back to the gym today which was tough going, it will only get easier.. Right?!

Well, I've just done a freezer raid and had scampi and potato wedges for dinner. Yackarama. But I'm also completely skint, so I'm going to try and make the most of the freezer for a while - I've got something that looks like chicken for dinner tomorrow (why do I never mark up my batch cooking?!?)

Snowed in here too but brought plenty with me last night to work from home. Planning to put on my wellies at lunchtime and go for a nice long walk

Lovely to see you back El, hope you will be on as often as you can so we can all kick your arse as needed!
Come on everyone, let's get positive: I challenge everyone who logs onto this thread today NOT to leave without posting. And you post challenge for today is to post about one item of clothing that you really, really want to lose some weight to fit into.
Mine is my new purple frock - the only sales item that I allowed myself to keep in a size too small....

That dress is sooo gorgeous Ginfizz!!
I have 3 things actually, a skirt that I bought for a ridiculous amount of money a couple of years ago (one of my few designer things

) and a dress which is a size 12 - I bought the dress when I was a 12 but it was still too tight, it has no give in it at all... Oh how I would love to wear it!!
Day 1 went well yesterday.. Was a bit nibbly at night but still managed to stay in check

Back to the gym again today... Will pick up a nice salad box from Morrisons for lunch

I have a £200 frock from Monsoon that (I think) looks gorgeous and i am too fat for it now. Pic is on my profile page. Am substantially fatter than that now.
Anyway - this is the no moaning thread!!!!!
Yesterday I did ok but coincidentally did some kitchen munching while making the tea (see Diana's thread). That is another thing that has to stop.
Comfort eating is self defeating - kitchen picking .... can't think of a rhyme ... is stupid
Jaye why don't you join us!

ooh i was being nosey - but gin said to post so i will! x
going to yoga class at lunchtime.
I didnt realise that i had bought some shirts last year from my clubby that are really nice but too tight and still have labels on!!!!!
one is a silky brown shirt which can be tied into a tie look ( does that sound yuck?)
another is a deep purple 3/4 sleeve ( love the floaty sleeves ) that is too tight around my back and bust
at this moment in time show every lump and bump but would LOVE to wear them both with a nice pair of jeans...
maybe spring?

Hellloooo!!
I too will need a bit of tough love to keep me going especially as I'm heavier than I was when I joined here....!!!
I don't have any clothes in my wardrobe that I really really want to fit into at the moment but I would like to buy a really nice smart top or dress rather than my casual attire which I am usually dressed in!
You all have some lovely outfits to aim for though...Gin...that dress is gorgeous!
Lisino...well done on getting hubby to take the tin of sweets into his work...we bought a tin for my folks at Christmas time and it wasn't me who opened them and ate most of them but it 'twas my diabetic other half who is not supposed to eat lots of chocolate/sweets etc!!!!
I've remembered to take my lunch with me today....a wrap filled with ham and salad with some carrots/pepper sticks and some fruit! And I'm planning a gym trip this evening if himself is home from work in time....

Afternoon friends, just back from work. No children in today but staff were told to go in if we could do it safely, funny how some people mamaged 10 miles or more on country roads and others on main routes and only a mile away didn't
No partiuclar clothes I'm waiting to wear but I do have to buy a ball gown this summer and want to look good.
Enjoy your afternoon, I'm off to have some lunch then going to read my book

i think the clothes thing is a great idea. i have so much stuff that no longer fits me thats still like new. i would love to wear the dress i had for ssoy (a year past october) on my summer hols this year. luckily at the moment i'm well aware that i will need to stick to the plan for the long haul for that to happen and not kidding myself on that i can have a few weeks/days/months off and somehow when the time comes it will just magically slip on

. long may this feeling last
actually i would quite like to be set up as a challenge all on its own then come a few months time see how mnay of us have succeeded

good luck in 2010 everyone

I have a size 12 dress (a tiny size 12 - rigid fabric, no give whatsoever!) that made my waist look teeny tiny when I was about two stone lighter - I'd love to wear that dress again!
And, as I'm off to South Africa in August, I'd love to wear shorts and vests without worrying about my collosal bingo wings and thunder thighs!
GinFizz
Jan 6 2010, 03:38 PM
Ooooh, South Africa, Hannah - do tell us more!
Well, just to report back - I made it back from a 2-mile round trip to M & S in the snow. Absolutely freezing but have some lovely treat foods, ready prepared veg, fresh soups etc as well as milk and bread and stuff. Hard work walking back up the hill in the snow in wellies - will dig out my walking boots for next time, I think!

I have some brown work trousers that I bought in Southampton that I need to get back into - not very exciting I know but there's always the designer jeans that hubby's going to buy me in San Francisco for my birthday ( he doesn't know this yet!!)
Didn't get a walk in today -we had icy roads this morning but horrible rain this afternoon - forecast is for some snow over the next few days but we usually manage to miss it down here!

Hello everybody....and well done to you all for getting 'down & dirty' so quickly after the festive season....sadly I have not been so brave......but have taken the 'leap of faith' and I'm raring to go - if you're all OK with a late comer!!
I have somehow managed to put on 7lbs in 4 weeks
and really need to get my finger out..........have some lovely new vest tops for my trip to Las Vegas in March - so let the challenge commence.......
Has anyone lese tried the 'Feel Fuller Longer' meal range that's in M&S they have loads of dishes on an intoductory price with £1 off each I can highly recommend the poached salmon bean & pasta, and the chicken.
Will also try to get my @rse in gear and get on here as often as I can.
