In years gone by when stress set in, I was upset or unhappy I used to reach for the buscuit tin or the sweetie box.
Now go to the gym or out for a brisk walk, it makes me feel better and find it quite mentally stimulating.
What about anyone else?

I have to say exercise and big long walks - I love them. I have one planned for Sunday but it is weather permitting! Hope it's nice out.

Normally it'd[i] either be a whinge on the phone to my mum(!) or going for a soak in the bath - but lately it's been going on here, what a breath of fresh air for me

Bookshops - a wander round Waterstone's after a stressful day often calms me down. I also like DS games as they keep hands and mind occupied.

Still food for me too - going to try to change that this year.
Exercise cheers you up - scientific fact! - thinking about exercise though ... well .. i still haven't got the bug. But I will! I like a nice walk, much less boring than the gym

Have you tried any classes? I get bored with the gym all the time but do like it if I mix it in with classes or other activities.

Hmmmm, been tidying up this morning, pottering around doing washing, stripping the beds, you know the story!!
This is actually making me feel better - and the place looks better for it too!!!
So, i suppose housework IS good for you

Before if I was stressed I would have reached for a glass of wine, but you know its funny because since the New Year, I really really try not to let myself get stressed out. But I do find that housework will stop me reaching for wine glass or biccies, and stops me generally thinking about food then by the time I am finished I have a nice tidy home and have worked out my stress.
I was once told this really brilliant thing by a Police Officer about stress and I cant quite remember it, but its basically stress is the effect of something and to prevent stress you need to off load i.e. exercise, time out etc. Sorry I know thats a bit rubbish - I really wish I could remember what he said properly.

BUMP!!!
Guess what??
Went for a lovely soak in the bath tonight - made sure the boys (son and OH) knew not to disturb me. I squirted in LOADS of bubble bath, lit a candle, and just lay there!!!!
After the soak - i slapped moisturiser all over - and just feel so.......clean!!! lol
I must've been well over an hour
Total bliss, i should do it more often
