Hi folks, hope Kiwi Pink or anyone else doesn't mind, but in the absence of Kiwi Pink this week I have decided to do it.  butterfly.gif

I don't think I will be as good as Kiwi herself but I think we are all needing somewhere to post our results and a little inspirational talk so here goes :-

Today, I am going to talk about the importance of EXERCISE. Not only does it help your weight loss as you are increasing your metabolic rate, but it tones your body and produces happy hormones in the brain called endorphins which help us all keep happy mentally as well as physically.  biggrin.gif .

So whatever "rocks your boat" do. I like the fitness DVD's, walking and even just doing housework such as hoovering and ironing to burn these excess calories. 

Now that Spring time is here, how about giving your home a Spring Clean or getting your garden all sorted out with planting new vegetables or flowers whilst breathing in that lovely fresh air!

I would like everyone to tell me what new activity they are doing this week? Or indeed what they are still doing.

Dance around the room with your jammies on if that makes you happy!  laugh.gif . Its all burning calories just the same.

I dont weigh in til tomorrow, but I also love my fitness DVD's - have got right into it (although much to the dismay of my floorboards!) I also do Just Dance on the wii - this does not feel like exercise even though last night the sweat was literally pouring off me after an hour! I go to the gym once a week, and like you try and do my housework with as much vigour as I can muster in an effort to burn off those extra calories!

thanks for doing the class! I really hope kiwi pink is ok. As for weight, I lost 2 lbs this week so only 1 more lb until my first stone! Exercise- nothing at the moment, need to get to it.

Whoo hoo, thats an excellent weight loss! Remember that exercise will help tone your body and make you feel better in the long run too. Good luck for losing that 1lb for next week. A whole stone, that will be amazing!

Everyone was feeling a wee bit lost and missing Kiwi confused.gif hope she well ok, Well what can I say STS again this week 4 weeks in a row, but to be fair the last two weeks I have not been that good so I am a happy enough bunny 2thumbs.gif Em! Exercise Is non exsistant at the moment due to operation on my stomache but gradually I will start walking soon

Hope you feel better soon. Its not always possible to exercise, but once you get on your feet again a wee walk to the shops e.t.c. will be a good start. x


P.S. If you don't mind me asking, what was the op for? If you'd rather not say I'll understand.

i lost 3lbs this week so happy,i go to the gym most days at 6.30am and do what i can,it does help just to do even a little exercise.

No I don't mind rolleyes.gif Its in the past Whew! I had a massive growth that was rapidly growing and threatening other organs! very scary for a while there, was told 80% chance it was cancer y_scared.gif but they were WRONG 2thumbs.gif 2thumbs.gif Quite a slow recovery tho as I have to get Steriod injections into my stomache, but I'm getting there and now I'm healthier than I have been for ages 2thumbs.gif

Ooh, that sounds awful, but glad it wasn't cancer and that you are on the road to recovery. Must have been worrying at the time though. Take care, Catrina. x

2thumbs.gif  Wow, thats a magnificent weight loss Margaret. You should try and copy what you have done this week in weeks ahead if you find your weight loss slows down a bit.

I'm impressed you go to the gym so early in the mornings! That will really set up your metabolic rate for the day! Well done you! x

Hmmmmm. STS this week - I am totally gutted, really, really not happy one little bit. See if I had been bad and had a few things I shouldnt have had I could understand but I swear on my husband and cats lives I have stuck to PEP not only this week but the past 11 weeks, any treats I wanted (which really havent been that much) I always saved up in advance cause I hate trying to make up for too many calories.

The only thing different this week was my chinese I had on saturday, but that was only (or should have only been as much as we can guestimate takeaway food) 23 checks, I had saved about 18 checks in the run up to last week then that added to my dinner checks of 16 gave me 34 checks to play around with, so I really dont know.

I did however measure myself this morning and I have lost 1 inch from my waist and 2 inches from my bust. But that is little consolation, I really am so hacked off.

Hi Rosie, I'm not going to say that much to you as I have replied on the other bit of the forum to you already, but please don't get down about it. You have lost consistently for 11 weeks and not many of us can say that!


An inch from your waist, thats fantastic and 2 inches from your bust, thats incredible, (though I don't suppose if you minded if it came from their!).

As a couple of people said on the other bit of the forum, you have to look at the bigger picture and SS is not a diet, its a lifestyle change, so it might take a bit longer to get to our goal but we'll all get there in the end.

On the positive side though, I think you'll be more determined than ever to lose something for next week.

I had a STS at WI too, but I'm quite happy with that, as was out on with a friend I hadn't seen for 7 months, on Wednesday night, had a nice tea, a small individual pizza with a wee portion of curly fries and a "dollop" of coleslaw washed down with a white wine spritzer lipsmacking.gif and for the rest of the night I had 4 vodka, lime and lemonades y_whistle.gif was home just on midnight y_innocent.gif

am happy to report 0,7 kg loss this week. Not much, but new meds are working great and some more exercises too!

Hi Audrey, a STS is always better than a gain, isn't it? I like the sound of all these vodkas  laugh.gif . Hope they were with diet juice though! Enjoy your weekend and good luck for next week. x

I lost 1.5lb this week, that's 21.5lb for me this year rolleyes.gif Still a long way to go, and I had a slip up this week. I have tried to claw back most of the extra checks though.

I went for an extra walk on Thursday night before the rain came on. It was loely to get outside.

i'm really sorry to report 1lb on for me this week confused.gif had a really bad week just wanted to eat and eat, dont know why but think its under control again.
going to set the wii fit up upstairs so going to try use that most days, peace from the wee 1's to do it.x

My own fault really, just can't seem to "get on with it"
New start tomorrow, see if eating little and often helps (another tip from CM - snacking is my downfall you see confused.gif ) Saying that tho - i have NEVER gained 3lbs in a week before (except 4 the xmas/new year weigh-ins) xx

Hi Shirls, try and snack on fruit or veg. What helps me is planning a really nice tea in the morning or even the day before and focussing on that to see me through the day.

I would now officially like to close this weeks class and I think we would all hope that Kiwi Pink is fit and well enough to do it next week. If not I will stand in for another week. Would just like to add the following, incase your back on it again tomorrow Kiwi:-

We had 11 participants this week, (including myself).

Had a whopping 9lbs LOST between us all, (me included).

3 STS.

2 GAINS of 4lbs.

Those I think worthy of a special mention, are as follows:-

***MELANIES*** Now lost over a STONE! Well done you!!!

and ***SCOTCHMIST*** for losing a STONE and a HALF since the new year! Way to go girl!

And finally I think Margaret should get a wee mention for losing 3 pounds this week, no easy feat.

Well after staying the same after my trip to Amsterdam,i have now lost an amazing 5lbs,this now makes me 2 st loss in 2 months,well happy .Now given myself a new target
