Good morning folks And well done to all those who participated in last weeks class.
Between us we lost an amazing 9lbs in weight. There was a wee gain of 4lbs and 3 of us stayed the same.
I would like to include the following people for a SPECIAL MENTION, and they are as follows:-
**** M E L A N I E S **** - Her weight loss took her over losing a stone now! Well done you.
**** SCOTCHMISTS **** - Has now lost over a stone and a half since the new year! Amazing!
And lastly, Margaret lost 3lbs, Good for you, Well done!
Now, without further ado and in Kiwis absence I will now go on to talk about the importance of BREAKFAST.
Some of us skip this important meal. Simply because we do not have time, can't be bothered eating in the morning or think that it will aid our weight loss, but in fact the opposite happens.
If we regularly skip breakfast our metabolic rate will slow down, we will probably be grazing on all the wrong sorts of food throughout the day and we will be working less efficiently throughout the morning.
So come on ladies and gents eat your breakkie and if you already do, how about trying some different cereal or a cooked one this week for a little change.
Let us all know what you have for it and if you try something a little different let us know.
Well thats all I'm going to talk about this week. Hope you are all enjoying more exercise or keeping up with what you were already doing.
HAPPY PEPPING AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK! X

wow Pete that's amazing! I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself today but it's nowhere near like your loss, well done! I've lost 2 lbs this week, week 9, and that takes my total loss to 15lbs =1 stone 1lb hooray!!! I started at 14stone and am now 12 stone 13, I can't tell you how great it was to see 12 at the start of it this morning. Looking forward to losing the next stone, aiming for the end of May so we'll see. I had hoped to be 12 stone 10 by my little boy's 3rd birthday, which is 2 weeks today, so if I can lose 3 lbs in 2 weeks I'm bang on my personal target. I would then be exactly 3 stone above my ultimate target weight. Can't wait! I'm currently trying to motivate a friend who wants to lose weight, she used to do weight watchers so I'm going to try to persuade her to go back, or convert to ss!, and do it online like I am-hopefully it will have the same effect on her as it has on me.

Again - I dont weigh in until Friday but wanted to share brekkie ideas. I always, always, always have weetabix - its tastey, I dont have to weigh it out, simples. Occasionally I have porridge at weekends, and when it was really cold in Jan/Feb, if I got up early enough I'd have that before I went to work. But I am trying to cut out aspartame out of my diet, and the granulated sweetner I use has aspartame in it, so I'll have to resort to using crushed sweetex or hermestas as theses are both aspartame free. BUT I have been actually having something different for brekkie the last few days - musli and natural yogurt - it is lovely and I can throughly recomend it. I have 45g no added sugar musli - 6, and 150g natural yogurt - 3 or 3/4 of your edb. Yum Yum!

Hi Rosie, yeah I love Weetabix too. Most mornings I just have toast and marmalade or jam, I'm quite boring when it comes to breakfast. I like the idea of sugar free muslie with natural yogurt. Does it have sweetners in it though to give it a sweet flavour?

No it doesnt, but I find that I dont need it, you get alot of natural sweetness from the raisins that are in it, I suppose you could add a sweetner or 2 if you wanted it sweeter, but I think its lovely just as it is.

Just home from class and that's another 2 1/2 off for me

Lets hope I can keep this up.
For breakfast I have been eating dry weetabix, I can't stand it with milk added, or dry oatibix with cranberries, both are really filling. I'm not really a breakfast person, but since joining SS I have breakfast most days.
I am going to try some new recipes this week. In the oven I have the sausage, apricot and rice loaf cooking for supper tomorrow night, will let you know if it's any good.
Here's to another good week for us

cmcinroy- what a shame, I really feel for you. I tore the ligaments around my ankle last year, it's not fun. Look after yourself.
Catrina-thanks for kind comments!
re breakfasts-I'm usually toast and marmalade. I'm also not using sweeteners this time around as I don't want the aspartame either. I count in one check a day for sugar in coffee- half spoon x2. Whenever I have weetabix for me or kids we have it with mashed banana. When I was a wee girl we used to cover it in sugar. Not now! We also have it with hot milk. This morning I made pancakes and we had strawberries too. I worked out a while ago that each little pancake was averaging 1.5 checks according to the ingredients used and how many were in a batch. I like mini shredded wheat with sliced banana and cold milk. Favourite is Jordan's new muesli with tropical fruit but avoided this as there is so much dried fruit in it I think I'd only be allowed a wee tiny bowlful! Porridge = I like the easy to make packs, with syrup in. Can't quite eat it plain and definately not with salt, the way my mum likes it! Talking about food, am now off to make lunch for us all. Am hoping to make free soup today, have been without it for a couple of weeks and really missing it -though now i'm right off topic.

Hi singing mum! thanks for the message. Its nice to see your a toast and marmalade kind of girl too and like weetabix, thats like me. The banana in the weetabix sounds nice and I like pancakes too. I had a pancake for breakkie yesterday morning. What is aspartame? and are you allergic to it? Also, I like using something called "Spenda" in my coffees and on my cereal, it is a "check free" alternative to sugar, don't know if you will have heard of it or not.
I also am thinking of getting muesli and making a pot of soup sometime soon.
Well better go now, hear from you soon. Take care, Catrina. x
