Now then, you might all be wondering what it is I am going to "talk" about today, then wonder no more. Today, I will be "speaking" of socialising and how to cope with these situations where food is present and the drink is flowing.
I myself am going out with my friend to a Chinese restaurant this week and am very much looking forward to it, but am aware that I am only a pound from my target weight and don't want to blow it with over-indulging on food.
So, what can we do about it? Well, we shouldn't avoid going out altogether, but think ahead. The word PLANNING comes to mind again. If we don't know the check value of a meal, then we can guess it to be around 30 checks. In reality it could be anywhere between 15 - 50 checks, but it is better to account for it in some way than none at all.
Also, if it contains cream, cheese or mayonnaise in it or has been deep-fried or oozes with oil then it is going to be higher in checks also.
It is also worth considering if you need to eat a whole three courses. If you can get away with a "light" soup and a main meal then this is best, a big piece of chocolate cake with lashings of cream on it is obviously going to put on the weight. As the saying goes "A moment of the lips and a lifetime on the hips" (I think thats how it goes anyway!).
Right anyway, on with the RESULTS of last weeks weigh in. Well, EVERYONE did remarkably well, but rebelsue2 deserves a special mention. She has been a real trouper and lost 2 and a half pounds this week, making this her FIRST stone she has lost. WELL DONE Sue!!
As always Pete is losing - 5lbs again this week! I don't know how you're managing Pete (probably lots of exercise and healthy eating), but keep it up!
And altogether we lost just over a STONE and a HALF!!! With a small 9 and a half pound gain. Thats not bad eh? We should all be PROUD of ourselves.
Well, without much further ado now, can I ask you to step forward and let us know your results for this week...
GOOD LUCK!
