Hello. This is day five on SS PEP. I have managed to lose 1 kilo which is great considering my first two days were eating as normal to see how my points compared.(scary stuff)
On the topic of socialising and meals, Ive always found it really hard when visiting friends or family for dinner compared to eating in a restaurant where you have a degree of control over what you're having.
I'm a really fussy eater at the best of times but I don't want to add more dietary demands on people kind enough to feed me. What is the etiquette on making dietary demands when visiting friends and relatives?
Well done on your loss this week

and welcome to our Online Class.
On the subject of eating out at restaurants probably being easier to control how much and what you eat to eating at friends or family I would agree with you.
I would suggest before going to family or friends you tell them that you are "watching your weight", so maybe smaller portion sizes would be in order and not having soup and a pudding as both together may be
very calorific. Try and save a few checks each day for a few days before eating out, or if you haven't or can't do this have it on "credit", which means having a few less checks for a few days after the event. And if you get too much on your plate don't think it is rude to leave something if you've already said that your trying to lose weight, you can just say you enjoyed what you had.
About "dietary demands", I would try beforehand to tell the people you are going to what you can/can't eat and don't think that this is rude if said in a nice way. If you can't do this and you get something you
really can't eat, I would just leave it on the plate and eat what I could and say how you enjoyed what you ate. If there is a lot on the plate you can't eat perhaps they may offer you something else.
I hope this helps. Take care and enjoy the pepping week ahead! x
