Help! I am really struggling to lose. Way back in October began SS. First few months did not too bad, managed to lose albeit slowly. Class Manager reckoned I wasn't eating enough, and not drinking enough water, did as I was asked lost another 4 lbs over a couple weeks...now I am still eating what I am supposed to, drinking 2 litre water per day and I put on last two weeks. Sitting here in tears, due to go on holiday in a couple months and feel like cancelling.
I have had treatment for breast cancer in recent years, still have major problems with Lymphoedema, but Dr say this shouldn't affect weight loss. Can anyone help with suggestions. Friends who go to club with me, eat things they shouldn't, drink alcohol and still lose weight. What is wrong with me.

Niamh, I understand how you feel, I have been through the no losses even though you've stuck to pep religiously, its very soul destrying.
The main thing that stood out for me in what you said, when you doctor told you that your previous treatment 'Shouldn't' affect weight loss, shouldnt isn't won't, and therefore COULD affect your weight loss. If I were you I'd go back to your doctors and tell them exactly what you have following/eating etc and ask that this be looked into further before its dismissed.
Good luck, and keep coming back here - you'll get losts of support and motivation.

I joined in October too Niamh and lost slowly but fairly steadily for a while. I can't say I was as good as you at sticking to the plan though! Maybe you have just reached a 'plateau' where your body is used to the new regime and your metabolism has adapted? Do you do any exercise? Maybe a change in exercise regime could help, but I'm no expert there I'm afraid

However, I have started walking for 20 mins each evening and doing a 1 hour walk once a week, which seems to be helping (in my case I have been over eating but still stayed the same) so if you are sticking to PEP then a wee increase in exercise could make the difference between STS and losing. Also - take your measurements. Have they changed? Sometimes we put on or STS for no apparent reason for a week or two.
Don't beat yourself up about it. You are doing a fantastic job. Just hang in there, keep doing what you're doing and it will work

Hi Niamh,
I myself am struggling at the moment, been online on and off for the past two years, eventually the begining of this year after my 40th birthday decided enough was enough and came back online, and lost 1 and half stone, but now am really struggling. (I still have abour 5st to lose) I have started afresh today as I try everyday but today I have stuck to the plan so far. I also think you should speak to your doc again and as advised before show and tell him what you have been eating. It is dead easy to lose confidence and let yourself stray, but stick with it it will come.
