butterfly.gif  Hi folks and sorry for only getting the Online Class up and running now, have had a few personal problems to sort out.

I hope that you are keeping well and enjoying this summer weather.

Now for many of you it will be the start of the school holidays (or home-ed hols in my case with my son). And many of you will be going away on holiday sometime soon too.

With the kids being off it may be a bit more stressful for you and you might be tempted to eat a bit more or at the wrong times. If the kids are wanting to eat a lot, it doesn't mean that you have to join them and if you want to just eat one meal with them, then thats fine also. Just remember to keep within your checks and you'll be fine.

If you can get your child to help out a little around the house or go to a friends house or relatives for a while that may ease the strain for you too. And if you are tempted to eat, then try and get in plenty of fruit in for you and your child/children. That would be my advice anyway.

If you're going away then "cut yourself a bit of slack", perhaps not intending to lose weight, but if you come back as a STS then that would be fine in my opinion. As for last weeks wee "talk" on socialising the same principles would apply here I think. Watch what things are cooked in when eating out and sauces e.t.c. may contain a high calorific count. Also, if you don't know the value of a meal, a good guess is better that not counting anything at all and totally going over your checks for that day. Say 30 checks for a main meal is what I would say.

Well, now onto the results of last week...

We LOST nearly an Amazing stone and a half! 4 STS. And a small gain of 4 lbs. WELL DONE EVERYONE !!!  2thumbs.gif

Summer sun2 is the well deserved trophy winner of this week, having lost a few pounds. Well done!!!  winner.gif

Now, its over to you guys...

GOOD LUCK!  1983.gif

P.S. Sorry about the date, should read 5th -11th July, not sure how to change it now on the title!

Thanks Shirls, just noticed this, I don't think that there is a way to change it now without typing out the whole "talk" again, so I've just put a P.S. note at the bottom! Sorry for the blunder! x

Hi All

I have moved to a morning weigh in, so cannot claim all of this as a loss as such as it includes a mornings worth of eating and difference between clothes and jammies! But I am 5.5 lbs lighter than last week's WI.

Have a great week everyone!

hi i'm not going to be able to get to class this week as we are so busy in the house decorating y_yawn.gif so i've weighed myself and i've lost 0.5lb i was doing well but lost my way at the weekend.
Heres to a good week i have my string and i have my first knot init as i had a good day yesterday,i'm organised and i have planned also doing a couple of no check low check meals last night was veg korma and tonight is mushroom stroganoff lipsmacking.gif
Be good everyone if you can't be good be carefull.

I'm weighing in a day earlier than usual today as will be going off to stay at my parents for a few days with the kids. (I've got a tub of broccoli soup out of the freezer to help me on my way today at least!). My mum is a SS veteran and my dad is really supportive of the weightloss campaign so I'm not too worried. Only problem is the wine that is often on offer once the kids are all in bed! I put on a 1lb last week and I'm pleased to say that I've now lost that 1lb this week! I'm slightly annoyed with myself that I've been yo-yo-ing for the last few weeks losing and gaining the same few pounds but hey it's all going in the right direction. 4lbs to go until lose 2 stone, can't wait for that, then I'll be 2stone 4lb from target weight. Can't believe that even after partaking of food and drink at 5 family birthdays, other friends birthdays, meals out, a holiday away, valentine;s and Easter (traditionally the time for chocolate gluttony) and other unexpected food occasions, I'm still managing to lose weight and am nearly 2 stone down. It's taking a while, about 5 months so far, but it's all working out and I'm managing to 'live' at the same time. Only feel deprived sometimes!!!!!! good luck everyone!

Well done singingmum,  2thumbs.gif .

I know what you mean about being able to go to different outings and still being able to socialise and eat with others without it affecting your weight loss that much or not at all. Thats what I like about SS too, nothing is prohibited and we can just go about life normally without feeling deprived or on a diet.

Good luck when you lose that 4lbs and you reach your loss of the 2 stone mark. You're doing brilliantly, keep it up! x

P.S. Enjoy the few days away at your parents and go easy on the wine!  laugh.gif .

Hi Tracy,  smile.gif ,

Have sent you a PM this morning, thanks for yours. x.

Good on you for the loss, no matter how small it's still a wee loss and going in the right direction eh?

That veg korma sounds really nice as does the mushroom stroganoff, are they in one of the PEP complete books? You'll need to let me know. (I'll have a wee look through the two I've got after this in case I find them).

Well, better go. Good luck with the decorating and pepping for the week ahead and hear from you soon.

Love, Catrina. x  1983.gif .

For everyone who wants it:

No check mushroom stroganoff

1 small onion chopped
spray oil
115g mushrooms chopped
1 oxo cube (it says veg but I use chicken)
1 dessert spoon tomato purée
pinch of thyme ( I just use mixed herbs)
2 heaped tablespoons of fat free fromage fraise
black pepper and chopped parsley for seasoning (I don't use either)

1. Cook onions in pan with spray oil add water if needed to stop sticking
2. Add mushrooms, crumble in stock cube, tomato purée and thyme, cook for 1 min
3. Add 100mls water and simmer for 4/5 mins (I don't always do this)
4. Remove from heat and stir in fromage fraise
5. Return to heat and warm gently
6. Add pepper and parsley if wanted

on it's own it's 0 check (using edb calcium allowance) if not count 2 checks, then I usually make 8 checks of rice and it's a huge meal for 8 checks!!

Let me know if u like it. Its def my fav!!

Hi there,

I know its easy to reach for the biscuit tin or whatever when you have personal problems but that won't help you will it? It just makes you feel better for a few minutes and then worse for the rest of the day or night. I think we've all been there though, so don't torture yourself, you're only human and will make mistakes now and again. Try and draw a line under it and make it your goal to lose the weight and look FANTASTIC so that your ex husband can just see what hes missing! And do it for yourself too, you deserve a bit of happiness.

Take care and GOOD LUCK. Hope you have a better pepping week and we'll here your results next week.

x

P.S. To get the ticker thing, just click on someones elses (but not mine though as mine isn't working just now) and you can pick your design e.t.c. Hope this helps.

Heya,

Dont worry hun, we have all done it, you know what happened and why it happened and thats a good thing as you can recognise whats making you overeat at times. You haven't let anybody down, all you have to do is simply just try again. Identify the times you feel like munching the most and perhaps go for a walk or do some housework. As you get into this you will find the things that help you.

For me I LOVE my carbs and i love Butternut squash as it makes me feel like I am getting my carb fix and its a free veggie. i love my crisps so I have identified the ones I can have such as Sunbites, walkers baked, wotsits etc. I also go fro sweet fruit such as pineapple, mango and blueberries for a sweet fix. ben and jerrys frozen yoghurt in choc fudge brownie doesn't taste any different to me but it comes in at about 6 chx for about a quarter of a tub!!!. I also love soleros - 4chx. Philly splendips 6chx - i love these beacuse I love having a dip and again they taste much naughtier than they are.

So you can have your treats when you are feeling a bit low etc just have clever treats biggrin.gif - hope that helps you out a little. there is loads of advice all over this forum and I find that this online weigh in and the food diary section really work for me. I also make sure I get my wine at the weekend biggrin.gif so I never feel like I am missing out. Another thing that did it for me is when i had lost 3lbs I could already feel my clothes feeling looser and that has totally spurred my on, so I know you feel down right now but if you just think that if you stick to this and you clothes can start feeling looser within 2 weeks - that may help you out.

P.S to get a ticker just click on somebodys ticker and that will take you to the website to set one up. Once you have designed your ticker and added all the info it will produce a code. You copy this code and post it into 'my signature' which you will find in 'my account' Paste it in there and you will see it. when you want to update it just add the new info when you have weighed in and copy the new code
