Hi

I've just been to class and my starting wieght for the challenge is 12st 10.5lbs!!! The numbers will be lower next week!!

Hello team members
I am 56 and joined SS a few years ago. I lost 2 and half stones that time and the having gained it back lost it a second time.. Here I am having put some of it back yet again. I have an additional problem now as I have a spine problem which I have had surgery for 18 months ago and am having more in 2 weeks and then again in the future. Its limiting my ability to exercise which is frustrating as I love walking. I still manage to teach ful time and am pretty busy. Anyway, I want to look after myself and give my body some T.L.C. as in not carting round so much bulk.
I can relate to so many of your stories and look forward to helping motivate you through the challenges.

Ok - challenge 1 continued........ you know im kate and im 32 and a charity worker, I have 3 cats and a super boyf who is also watching what he eats - which is great for me just now. I will be getting my 4th cat on Sat - good job I have a big flat lol

Ooh, Katie, are the all house cats? I've got two and they can be a handful!

Anyway, I've managed a minimum of 60mins exercise over the last two days (mostly walking but at least I'm moving!) and I'm just about to go and post my three things for today!

I'm loving reading everyone's stories. I recognise a lot of them and it is reassuring to no you are not the only one!

Ok so I walked for 45 mins tonight - briskly

AND - I lost 3lbs this week biggrin.gif

Finally got my BMI under 30, think that deserves an extra point wink.gif lol

Challenge three- I took dinner and snacks to work with me yesterday to stop me buying convenience food
I weighed and measured everything from my cereal to my fruit juice.
I encoureaged the young person I was working with to do the wii, giving me a little exercise for the day!!!

I think I have completed all three challenges now

Everyone, please post if you reach milestones - you deserve to be rewarded. Also a loss of 7 pounds in total during the challenge will earn 50, so if you lose steadily, you'll earn bonuses for your team.

Excellent loss summer sun well done u!!

I reached a stone and a half this week!! Halfway mark (but think I'm gonna change my target nearer the end) and I also got back into the 11 stones for the first time in a year!! It's amazing!!

Zumba and fit to flex for me tonight!

Combat tomorrow!!

Did an hours walk yesterday, Today was walking aroung the shops for about 2hrs not sure if this counts tho

Hey guys net seems to be working for a bit!!

Just back from landmark and was swinging thro trees and climbing up ropes all day!! Shattered!!

We don't have a bath at home but we're at oh folks this weekend so I'm off to have a long soak challenge complete and curl up in a big clean bed!! Can't wait!!

Challenge complete. I've coloured my hair (much needed!!) and just had a lovely hot bubbly bath. Loved it!! I usually have a shower for quickness.

At weigh and go today and I lost a pound this week 2thumbs.gif

I have noticed I hadn't written out challenge three - I bought a new notebook and have written everything down, weighed everything and had two different peices of fruit each day this week as I was getting into a really bad habbit of always eating bananas as they are always to hand and easy to stick in your bag if your going out. I've had strawberries, oranges, bananas, melon, kiwi and pears!

Loving the challenges as it has really made me focus on the pep more.

had a wee 2.5k jog (35 mins)walk with the dog in the park to try and make up for the food excess last night, had a great time but so it was worth it!!.

Week 2 challenges
Challenge 1 – not just about the numbers on the scales - 5 points


Set yourself a goal which with a little effort you can achieve in the next 1 – 4 weeks and post it on here. Everyone who achieves their goal will get 15 bonus points.

Maybe you’ll like to be able to do up the button on a new (or old) pair of trousers. Or you could want to achieve a personal best on your favourite walking / running route.

Challenge 2 – get active – 10 points

This Challenge is from Summer Sun 2. Walk or run 2 miles.

For those of us who can’t exercise, complete 30 minutes of stretching, yoga breathing or whatever you can manage over the week.

Challenge 3 – do something daring – 5 points, 10 points

This challenge isn’t about jumping out of an airplanes or climbing mountains (although if anyone wants to try, they can have bonus points). Maybe there’s an exercise class you’re afraid to try or you’re still wearing the same outfits to work. Don’t put things off until you reach target - try something daring this week.

For 5 points, post one or more dares for others to try.

For 10 points, complete a dare.

Okies - challenge 1 - I can get into my size 16 jeans and do them up fine but I need to lose about 3-4 more lbs I reckon and they will fit niceley enough for me to leave the house in lol (wee bit clingy on the thighs) - so thats mine to achieve in the next 4 weeks.

Challenge 2 - I will be walking to the other end of town at least once this week - thats a 30 min brisk walk - done this 3 times this week & will be again tomorrow

Challenge 3 - need to have a re-think - zumba didnt happen sad.gif may pop along on sat am instead

I will cross these challenges off as I do them ( and shout from the rooftops when i go out in those jeans! biggrin.gif )

went swimming for an hour this morning, not sure how many kengths as I was alternating with pool exercies (squats, lunges etc) and swimming, even ran a few laps up an down, its amazing how difficult that is lol.

My somethig daring is to go to a Zumba class this week, i've been meaning to get around to it for ages and keep putting it off, this week is THE week lol I'll post and let you know how it goes 2thumbs.gif

Gonna have to change this one as im skint lol so no classes for me til pay day.

So my something daring this week is to wear a skirt over the weekend, something I haven't done in soooo many years

Challenge 1- its my birthday in 4 weeks time so i would like to get to 17 stone that's 6lbs away this is the weight i always get stuck at

Challenge 2- i walked for 20 minutes yesterday and today and i did 10 minutes exercise both days, i hope to do this everyday this week

Challenge 3- i will need to think about this one

Challenge 1 – Bought a dress for summer and wasn't buying bigger than size 18. A bit 'snug' at the moment but 4-5 kilos will make the difference
Challenge 2 – On Saturday will take a walk to the park, twice round it and home again = 5 miles.

Challenge 3 dare/ If you're like me you probably don't treat yourself enough, have a little splurge this week (non food items) whether it be a bathbomb from lush a nail polish from boots or if you can afford it a massage at the local beauty parlour, do something for you, you're worth it!!!! 1983.gif

I treated myslef to a new skirt suit from the Next sale, my workmates will not believe it as im not a skirt person, can't wait for its arrival on Monday, just hope it fits ok laugh.gif

I would like to be able to run to wrk in 30 mins by 4 weeks from now, distance is 3 miles, last time was 33 mins, 1st time was 35 mins so it may be doable. I'll keep you posted with my progress!!! pinch.gif

Wow i felt silly - im flalling my arms about like an idiot while all these toned and fit women (and a few men) make it look easy!!

Good tho - 2nd class booked for Friday! so we'll see if im any better!!

Challenge 1 i have no idea!! I think being able to fit into size 12 next jeans would be amazing!! So that'll be my 4 week challenge!! Hope i can make it- cant wait to get a lovely pair of jeans -all the "fat people" jeans are horrible!! hahaha

Challenge 2 - i will do this week!! maybe at the weekend!!! xx

Hi there guys, I'm Elaine and I have just joined Team 1 2thumbs.gif

I'm sure I have shares in Scottish Slimmers as I have gone to class on and off for the last 20 years rolleyes.gif I have just rejoined class tonight and I am determined that this will be the last time and that I WILL get to target this time 2thumbs.gif

I have been at target before but unfortunately put it all back on and more. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid but cant even use that as an excuse as since they have got my thyroxine levels sorted out there is no reason that I cant lose weight confused.gif

I have one kidult who is tall and skinny and can eat anything and not put on an ounce of weight so its great staying with him biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I am not into these fad diets where you only get shakes etc as I like eating too much (hence thats why Im overweight) so I know SS is the way to go along with introducing exercise into my life smile.gif

Challenge one - to fit into my size 16 jeans. I can get these jeans on but if I sat down I think they would split at all possible seams

Challenge two - I will walk through to the next village on Friday afternoon which is 4 miles

Challenge three - I am going to go to Zumba classes on Saturday morning. I have toyed with going to Zumba classes for a few weeks now but havent yet plucked up the courage. My fitness level is 0 so just scared of not being able to undertake the class.
