Between us last week we lost a MASSIVE 1 stone and 9 lbs!!
2x STS and no gains!
Which I also worked out between us is an average loss of 1.8lbs!! Which is amazing.
OK so todays talk!
Motivation is the theme for me this week, so heres a wee story.
Consider this scenario. On July 1, Jane and Jill both resolve to eat well and exercise more. Jane makes her resolution with excitement, eagerness and wholehearted anticipation or reaching her goal. Jill's resolution, on the other hand, is made with halfhearted commitment and detachment.
When she talks about the possibility of losing weight and living a healthier life, Jane is passionate and exuberant, while Jill responds to questions about her weight management goals with only lukewarm interest.
On December 31, assuming their attitudes don't change during the year, which of these two women is most likely to reach the weight loss and management goals??
Enthusiasm and motivation is critical to the success of any endeavor, but this is especially true in the area of weight loss and management. Think about it. When we are feeling down and out, that is when we are most likely to overeat and least likely to exercise. Our passionate desire to achieve a goal is what will drive us to get up at 5:00 am and exercise before going to work or to pass on a second helping of butterey potatoes.
So its all about how to keep your motivation and enthusiasm - Some tips:
Ive noticed a few motivational threads over the last few days, so add your thoughts to these, motivate each other.
Call someone positive and talk about things, let their positivity drive you.
Rent a movie, something that makes you want to get out and do things, Im thinking like Rocky??
Do something you love, too much time we spend focusing on the diet and not enough about still managing to enjoy what we love?
And finally a quote:
"The good Lord gave you a body that can stand almost anything. It's your mind you have to convince." --Vince Lombardi, NFL Coach
Your body is fantastic, it CAN and WILL lose weight if you give it the tools it needs, motivation and exercise and healthy eating!
So for those dithering about on the sidelines struggling - its only you that can do it for yourself, not for anyone else! So get stuck in!
And for everyone, step up and show me what you got!
Thanks for listening - hahha have a great week!
xxx
