Oatcakes

Perfect to serve along side our mince & oaty dumplings dish

  • 60 g wholemeal flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 225 g porridge oats
  • 60 g low-fat spread (melted)
  • 5 tbsp lukewarm water
  1. Preheat oven to 190ºC, gas mark 5.

  2. Sift the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda.

  3. Mix in the sugar and oats and bind with the melted margarine and water.
  4. Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 3mm and cut it out into 5 cm/2 inch rounds.

  5. Place them on a greased baking tray and bake for 20 minutes.
