Spicy sausages

4 X Scottish Slimmers range of venison sausages from Highland Game

  • Spray oil
  • 1 onion ( sliced)
  • 1 green pepper (de-seeded and sliced)
  • 1 yellow pepper (de-seeded and sliced)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • 400 g chopped tomatoes
  • 200 g reduced sugar baked beans
  • 100 g whole grain rice
  1. Grill the sausages under medium heat until browned and cooked through

  2. Spray a non-stick pan with oil and heat. Add the onions and peppers and cook gently until softened and starting to colour.

  3. Stir in the garlic paste, cumin, chilli powder and chilli flakes and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and bring to a simmer.

  4. Cut the grilled sausages into thick slices and add the sauce together with the baked beans. Simmer for 15 minutes.

  5. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the pack.

  6. Serve the rice topped with the spicy sausages.
